What you’ll be doing: In this role, you'll be owning the largest proportion of the White Rabbit revenue and working with our most strategic customers. You will report directly to our Head of Sales and collaborate with multiple members of the team and our customers to deliver growth through share winning plans. As a leader within the sales team, you will also be passionate about developing the Commercial Executive that you’ll be line managing. What will I be doing you ask? Own the numbers: full P/L management (inclusive of all promotional and trade spend) of a range of key grocery accounts, with stretching budgets & KPIs to be delivered and variable and fixed spend management, in line with budgets. A customer champion: manage and develop strong relationships with key decision makers at these accounts, working closely with them to understand their needs, develop strategic plans and unlock sales growth. Commercial savviness: you know the numbers & what it takes to grow a business profitably. You see a JBP negotiation as a chance to shine, not shy away. A go getter: you deliver new business through engaging sells that focus on White Rabbit’s strengths & performance within the gluten-free market, as well as the role we play for the customer & gluten free consumer. Job Requirements We’re seeking a candidate with a minimum of 5 years experience in sales, ideally within a fast-paced challenger brand or FMCG environment. A proven record of delivering outstanding business results and exceeding targets. Ability to negotiate commercially on JBPs, promotional plans, NPD listings with experience doing so with top 4 grocery retailers. A clear understanding of how to develop strategic customer plans and build strong relationships internally and externally in order to execute. Succinct and creative presentation of data through excel and powerpoint. Time management & effective prioritisation to balance growing existing customers and winning new business. Strong communication with all levels of stakeholders (internally & externally). Demonstrate a passion for continuous improvement and natural growth mindset. As a Commercial and Marketing Manager, you’ll play hands-on role to support and lead the commercial strategy across marketing and product functions. Reporting directly to the Director, this position is responsible for executing commercial and marketing plans to build brand visibility, revenue growth, customer acquisition and retention. This role brings together practical execution, data-driven insight, and leadership to achieve commercial success. Key Commercial Responsibilities Strategic Ownership: • Execute marketing and product strategies aligned with company goals., • Support the product portfolio performance, ensuring profitability & market relevance across all product lines., • Assist in forecasting and managing revenue targets across marketing and product lines., • Manage the marketing budget to ensure efficient allocation and strong ROI., • Identify and support delivery of new or expanded revenue opportunities., • Present key performance data to the Senior Management Team (SMT), including lead volumes and campaign metrics, to support strategic decision-making and business planning ensuring marketing activity is delivered on time, within budget, and with clear ROI. Brand and Market Positioning: • Plan and deliver multi-channel marketing activity to drive customer acquisition, conversion, and loyalty., • Oversee paid media, SEO, email, organic social, partnerships, and offline marketing., • Create and manage PR initiatives including media relations, press releases, and press trips., • Contribute to pricing strategies and revenue models for products and campaigns., • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform commercial strategy. Partnerships & External Relations: • Build and manage Coop Partnership strategies with tourist boards, cruise lines, and other strategic partners., • Support commercial negotiations with suppliers and external partners., • Manage agencies and retainer partners to ensure commercial value and alignment. Performance & Data-Driven Decision Making: • Use customer and campaign data to refine messaging, product positioning, and performance., • Track and report on campaign and product performance, optimising strategies based on insights., • Conduct strategic marketing and product analysis to guide commercial decisions. Team Leadership & Development: • Lead, mentor, and support a small cross-functional team across the marketing and product departments, • Set clear objectives, provide support, and promote a culture of creativity, innovation, and commercial focus., • Align team objectives with business goals and ensure high performance across all commercial functions. Polar Routes is the polar expedition cruise specialist, and we partner with over 22 operators to bring clients a huge range of expedition cruises to the Arctic, Antarctica and beyond. We take great pride in our unrivalled knowledge of the ships, itineraries and these wonderful destinations. We’re on-course to become the UK’s biggest wholesaler of expedition cruises to the polar regions. The Details The role is offered on a hybrid basis, working from the office in Kingston Upon Thames on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This enables the team to be together for collaboration and support; there is a bright and vibrant atmosphere in our office and the team regularly socialise both at company events and informally. For the other days you are welcome to choose whether you work from the office or at home, currently the majority of the team choose to work from home on those days. The hours are 38.75 per week, predominantly Monday-Friday. Shifts during the week will be 9am – 5:30pm, with 45 minutes for lunch. There may be the occasional requirement to flex the working times in order to manage workload or responses from overseas partners.
