The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be a key member of the Engineering Department, providing expertise in the design, manufacture, and repair of complex machinery. The role will support the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions across a variety of projects, with a strong focus on advancing the organisation’s growth in renewable energy, particularly through the development of large Hydro Generators. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the mechanical design of machinery, including stators, rotors, assemblies, upgrades, and retrofit projects, • Provide engineering leadership across all project phases, working closely with clients and stakeholders, • Use simulation and modelling tools to validate performance and compliance with requirements, • Oversee and participate in testing activities, both in-factory and on-site, • Carry out diagnostics, condition analysis, and life-cycle evaluations, producing clear technical reports, • Deliver service and maintenance support to ensure reliability and long-term asset performance, • Partner with tendering and project management teams on bids, proposals, and execution, • Develop and implement test methodologies for dynamic machinery testing, analysing performance data, • Perform root cause analysis on machinery failures and recommend corrective actions, • Produce repair instructions and technical documentation to guide the recovery of failed or degraded equipment.
