Job Title: ILS Engineer Location: Portsmouth Naval Base, Scotstoun or Filton. Salary: Up to £45,000 depending on skills and experience What you’ll be doing: Produce ILS deliverables to the required standard, as directed by the Engineering Manager / Principal Engineer / Senior Engineer, to achieve the stated requirement Support the peer reviewing of specific ILS deliverables to ensure the delivered output achieves the stated requirement Manage and drive their own areas and activities of analysis , monitoring their own progress, quality and performance, reporting as required and seeking assistance when necessary Pro-actively seek direction and guidance in the identification and sourcing of suitable Subject Matter Experts and design documentation, required to support the ILS activities Adopt and apply the company and project analysis tools as required and directed to meet the needs of the project Developing an understanding of the technical specification aligned to the functional area of activity Monitor and manage time and cost reporting for themselves as requested Comply with business requirements relating to (attendance, time keeping and reporting, expenses incurred, professional behaviours, security and commercial considerations) Your skills and experiences: Ideally knowledge of the principles of DefStan 00-600/601, S1000D A level of experience of ILS and able to demonstrate a practical knowledge and understanding of some of the following disciplines: MTA, LORA, Technical Documentation, RCM, R&S, Facility Analysis , NATO Codification, Obsolescence Management , PHS&T analysis , and LSAR as well as common software applications / tools and have an understanding of Product Safety Understand the purpose, components and processes associated with each element, including identification of dependencies and relationships with other discipline areas Ability to construct a reasoned and rational argument for the output produced and generate staged reports that support the support solution at all stages of the product lifecycle Benefits: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive. In addition, the role is further diversified by opportunities with export customer and the taking part in equipment and platform 3d scanning, equipment and compartment photographs and embedding this information along with supplementary training information into the end product.
