The St James Hotel is one of the most welcoming Hotels in Grimsby Town Centre offering 123 bedrooms, 5 conference facilities and our Minster view lounge restaurant and bar, which is part of the Corus Hotel Chain. The St James Hotel seeks the services of a professional, creative and skilled chef with good references to join as Kitchen Manager. The Kitchen Manager is under the direction and line management of the Operational Support Officer and will work alongside our Head of departments to deliver excellence to our service. To be responsible for the day-to-day operations inside the kitchen, ensuring that all food served is adherent to the food standards and guidelines by overseeing and managing our kitchen team. Responsibilities: Manage and maintain a high levels of daily production, preparation and presentation of all food to ensure a high-quality product through leadership. Ensures high levels of Health, Hygiene and Safety records are always maintained throughout the kitchen areas, which consists of weekly audits conducted by HR . Ensuring all Allergens are updated at all times. Stock control- making sure we are within the company guidelines for wastage, stock holding and profitability, in which responsible for monthly stock takes. Hiring, training and motivating the kitchen team and ensuring all the kitchen team are performing at high levels. Promoting a positive Health and Safety culture on the premises. Create and manage kitchen staffing levels in line with the business levels To produce dishes from our daily specials , Pepys and restaurant menu. Establish KPIs, polices, targets and procedures liaised with Operational Support Officer and HR What Skills are required? Strong Management skills- willingness to lead, take charge and offer opinions and direction. Communicative, able to communicate effectively at all levels. . Knowledge and experience in purchasing and costings Excellent customer service skills. Ability to prioritise tasks. Project management skills. Organisation and Systematics. What do we offer?
