Graduate Psychology Intern Affiniti+ Ltd To start from September 2026 | 2 days (14 hours) | One-year contract Affiniti+ Ltd is offering a paid, part-time internship for one aspiring psychologist who is passionate about making mental health and neurodiversity a mainstream conversation. This post is open to graduates and/or those at masters level in psychology who have a strong interest in research and pursuing a career in clinical psychology. Growth and Development for Aspiring Psychologists: You will work closely alongside a Consultant Clinical Psychologist who will provide regular supervision and line management. You will work alongside our Assistant Psychologist and Clinical Systems and Digital Assistant. You will support clinical services, our Learning Hub activities — including supporting sourcing research papers and relevant materials to support our online workshops, An Affiniti for Psychology newsletter and Podnotes series — and directly contributing to high-impact audit, quality improvement projects and research. Training Opportunities: The successful candidate will be given a CPD budget of £100 across the year to attend relevant courses, subscribe to journals and buy books to support their learning. Study leave will also be provided, in proportion to the number of hours worked. A Strong Track Record: This placement aims to strengthen applications for a number of pre-qualified psychological professional roles — including assistant psychologist, research assistant, graduate mental health worker, and psychological wellbeing practitioner (PWP) — that routinely lead to a place on clinical doctoral programmes. Our previous psychology interns have gone on to secure significant positions; most recently, a research assistant post at the University of Oxford’s Experimental Psychology department supporting their clinical trials of PTSD and social anxiety disorder, including internet-delivered treatment. You Are in Safe Hands: You will receive an induction appropriate to your role and to Affiniti+, along with supervision, line management and peer support throughout your placement. Core Responsibilities Clinical Administration: • You will provide a professional and welcoming point of contact for clients at Affiniti+, managing client relations and ensuring smooth operational flow. You will support the systems for our ad hoc sessional clinicians using therapy rooms. Service Responsibilities: • Working with our Clinical Systems and Digital Assistant on our Electronic Client Records (ECR) — a secure, digital and integrated view of client records, aimed at improving safety, reducing paper notes and streamlining clinician workflow., • Ensuring pre, mid and post therapy form packs are consistently provided to clients., • Scoring questionnaires and feeding results back to appropriate colleagues to support their clinical work., • To maintain databases for audits, quality improvement projects and research, enter data and monitor completeness of data., • To provide analysis of our databases Research, Audit and Service Evaluation: • Taking a lead in evaluating the impact Affiniti+ has had since being founded in November 2023, and how this informs future work., • Taking a lead in audit, quality improvement projects and research, with the aim of disseminating findings to wider audiences through conferences and peer-reviewed journal publications., • To assist in the preparation of reports, presentation and publications. Clinical Support: • Under supervision, providing direct psychological work where appropriate with clients presenting with mental health difficulties and/or neurodevelopmental needs relevant to pre-qualified psychologist capabilities., • Supporting neurodevelopmental assessments, observing assessments, optimising processes, and report writing for conditions such as ADHD and ASD, as and when appropriate., • Working alongside the assistant psychologist you will support the development of post-diagnostic resources and psychoeducation with children and adults. Digital and Content Support: • To assist with the creation of materials (videos and written materials) for our online workshops, newsletters and podcasts., • Supporting the digital presence of Affiniti+ and Dr Anindita, including social media scheduling and sharing, content support across platforms such as LinkedIn and Substack, and general digital communications and marketing, in line with the mission, ambition and vision of Affiniti+. Supervision: • Receiving supervision from Dr Anindita Sarkar, Consultant Clinical Psychologist. Please note: you may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as reasonably required, or in accordance with changes to your role. Person Specification We are looking for aspiring psychologists with a clearly communicated interest in this field. Essential Skills: • Strong academic and research knowledge, with experience applying this in practice., • Good understanding of statistics, • Experience in developing, using and managing databases to support analysis and make findings accessible to all., • Proficient in R Studio and/or SPSS, Google Workspace, transcription tools and other relevant software., • Professionalism, adaptability, proactivity and resilience in a dynamic start-up environment., • Strong written and verbal communication skills., • Attention to detail, • A high standard of report writing., • Excellent interpersonal skills — you will work with colleagues, clients and may liaise directly with a range of diverse organisations., • Excellent organisational and time management skills, • Energy and commitment to the mission and vision of Affiniti+., • Excellent initiative and problem-solving skills., • Flexibility to work across a diverse range of opportunities., • The ability to work well in a team, carry out joined-up working on projects, and work independently on tasks., • Humility to listen to and act on feedback., • A supportive approach to all aspects of the work undertaken by Affiniti+ Desired Experience: • Experience with advanced statistical data analysis, • Experience with writing papers for publication in scientific journals or conference presentations., • Experience with editing websites,, • Experience with video-editing, • Experience working with people with mental health difficulties and/or neurodiversity, in clinical, research or voluntary settings, or in similar roles, is highly valued., • Experience in the health sector is a plus, but not mandatory., • Well-rounded — with interests and pursuits that inspire and make you who you are. Compensation • £13.85 per hour, • £100 CPD budget for training and development opportunities., • 10 days of annual leave (pro-rata for part-time hours), plus 8 bank holidays., • Pension scheme. Requirements • A first or upper second class undergraduate degree in Psychology accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), providing eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC); or relevant postgraduate qualifications or conversion courses at MSc or PGDip level., • Eligibility to work in the UK., • A successful Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencement., • An interest in pursuing a career in clinical psychology and/or other professional psychology-related areas.
