Our camps are scheduled during the following periods: • February Half Term (one week), • Easter/Spring Holidays (two weeks), • May Half Term (one week), • Summer (six weeks), • October Half Term (one week), • Christmas/Winter Holidays (2/3 days to one week, depending on school closure) The manger's day starts at 8am to welcome early drop offs (if there are any) until 5.45pm if late pick ups are booked. You can choose to work as many or as few of these camps as you like, for example, one week at Easter and two weeks over the summer holidays. Your Role: • Manage camp arrivals and ensure all pupils are accounted for. You will receive a register with all the relevant information, • Check lunch boxes to ensure they are nut-free and make emergency sandwiches if needed (we sometimes get peanut butter sandwiches or pesto pasta or our pupils sometimes drop their lunches, so we keep emergency groceries.), • Oversee classroom welfare and the smooth operation., • Supervise playtime to ensure safe play., • Coordinate assistants and ensure they follow protocols, including fire drills., • Optional (and paid better), run science classes with provided training., • Manage pick-ups to ensure each child leaves with the correct guardian., • Oversee early drop-offs and late pick-ups for working parents., • Help set up the camp, usually on the Friday or Saturday before start Our Role: • Provide extensive training.     Job description Position Waking night support for disabled young man Description Job Summary Waking Night Support worker / Carer for friendly young person with epilepsy and profound autism autism, movement disorder and additional health needs. He lives at home with his family and friendly dog. Experience with disability essential. About the position Weekly hours minimum 26 hours. £16 per hour. We are looking for someone to take on 2 regular waking nights (13hr each night shift so in total 26 hours) ideally Thursday and Friday nights (but please let us know which nights work for you and we can then consider). These are strictly waking nights in the family home. More weekly hours are possible often but not less hours. This position could become a full time position after the summer if this would suit you. This would suit a student of a relevant health related subject. Candidate would need to be able to commit to 12 months. About the young person who needs support: The young man needs someone to spot seizures or other health emergencies and if needed call the parents who are in the same house. The monitoring is with seizure video monitor and heart rate monitor and regular in person checks. These nights sometimes can be active - as if he has a seizure he might have to be accompanied via ambulance to A&E. Good command of the English language is essential. All training is during the day first through shadowing. Being fit and strong is essential when supporting someone with a movement disorder. About you: This position will suit someone who ideally has already worked with autistic and disabled adults and has already experience. But it is very different from working in a care home. We would are be able to train you in personal care, catheterisation, medication administration, peristeen and positive behaviour support and other essential skills - if you are a suitable candidate. His environment will need to be kept clean and tidy (it is not a cleaner position but to ensure that his environment stays tidy, safe and fit for purpose). You will help with his laundry too. We would prefer someone to work on a self-employed basis with a UTR number (not cash in hand). It is exactly 26 hours minimum per week. But for the right candidate we can look at PAYE through an agency (we work with already). We hope to find someone who has specific interest in special needs. It is not a summer job but we hope to find someone to commit for a minimum of 12months. That's why we would prefer someone who has studied or will study a related subject eg Psychology, nursing or similar health related. The suitable applicant would be flexible and be able to take on extra shifts from time to time. You would often work together with other team members at the beginning or end of your shift (eg for bath time). Day shifts might available too on occasion if you are interested. This position could offer full time hours from the autumn and during summer holidays when other team members are on holiday. You should be responsible, cheerful, honest and very reliable and physically strong and healthy. You will be trained by members of the experienced team in all of his health needs but also the principles of ABA - a behaviour therapy. You will need to attend some of the team meetings too. You should: • Have experience with disability and even better profound autism, • Be strong and fit, • Commit for minimum a year., • Ideally be self-employed., • Invoice at the end of every month, • Able to work legally in the UK, • Based within commuting distance to north London, • Be a non Smoker and non Vaper., • Be comfortable with dogs.
