Resident Civil Engineer – Onsite (Port of Nigg, Scotland) Location: Port of Nigg, Scotland Job Type: Project Contract, Onsite Europlan Group is a leading international engineering and project services company, delivering innovative, safety-driven solutions to the energy and industrial sectors. We have been awarded the EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) contract for the development of a subsea power cable manufacturing facility at the Port of Nigg in the Scottish Highlands, in partnership with Japanese multinational company Sumitomo Electric. This landmark project will deliver critical infrastructure to strengthen supply chains for the offshore wind and renewable energy sectors, supporting the UK’s transition to clean energy. The Role We provide accommodation, full onsite support, and rotation flights back to Ireland every second weekend to support a balanced work-life schedule. As Resident Civil Engineer, you will be the on-site technical lead for all civil engineering activities. Acting as the link between the design office and construction teams, you will ensure that all civil works are executed safely, accurately, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities • Monitor and inspect civil works to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and regulations., • Act as the primary liaison between the design office and on-site teams., • Address technical queries (RFIs) and resolve discrepancies between design and site conditions., • Ensure contractors correctly interpret and implement designs., • Provide hands-on technical support and practical engineering solutions., • Track progress and prepare detailed site reports for management and stakeholders., • Maintain comprehensive site records, inspections, and documentation., • Ensure strict compliance with HSE standards and promote a strong safety culture. What We’re Looking For • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred but not essential)., • Chartered Engineer (CEng) preferred or working towards chartered status with Engineers Ireland, ICE, or equivalent., • Experience in site-based civil engineering roles, ideally within infrastructure or industrial projects., • Strong knowledge of Eurocodes and civil engineering standards., • Experience bridging design office and construction site operations., • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and reporting skills., • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications., • Willingness to be permanently based on-site, with occasional travel as required. Our client a globally leading Sustainability Lead to join our client on an exciting project. This is an initial three to four year fixed term contract based in Torness, East Lothian Role Responsibilities: • Contribute to the daily execution and refinement of sustainability initiatives on a major construction site., • Demonstrate understanding of Life Cycle Assessment methodologies and Whole Life Carbon accounting., • Assist in the creation and ongoing review of the Carbon Management Plan., • Track and report emissions across Scope 1, 2, and 3 categories., • Deliver toolbox talks and briefings focused on sustainability and carbon reduction., • Help measure and analyse sustainability indicators such as carbon output, waste levels, and energy usage., • Work with the Sustainability Manager to compile stakeholder reports., • Collect and organise data to support sustainability-related decision-making., • Engage with contractors and subcontractors to encourage participation in environmental programmes., • Aid in the design and facilitation of sustainability training for site staff., • Keep informed of new developments, technologies, and best practices in sustainable construction., • Conduct weekly site audits to assess sustainability compliance., • Engineering related or environmental discipline degree., • Strong communication skills both written and verbal., • Proactive attitude., • A valid driving license and access to personal transport are required for site travel., • Seven to ten years relevant experience.

What Are We Looking For? RSE is looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join us on a permanent basis, assisting in the delivery of projects across Scotland. You will undertake Control, Instrumentation and Electrical works including installation, testing, commissioning, and fault finding within new and existing MCCs, industrial instrumentation, analysers, motors, actuators and all other equipment used in the automated control systems associated with RSE products and those used by clients in Water, Chemical Dosing and Petro-chem industries. Please note this position will require flexibility on working location, with accommodation provided by RSE. Some of Your Key Duties Include: Provide a flexible approach to resourcing all commissioning requirements of various projects To support the project team by developing commissioning plans, site commissioning files, methodologies, programmes, method statements and risk assessments Monitor standards to ensure specification compliance and quality standards are strictly maintained Attend FAT activities and provide constructive input with regards to system controls Carry out commissioning of LV Electrical systems, Instrumentation and Control Systems including MCCs and associated field equipment Read and interpret electrical drawings, line diagrams and P&IDs Complete SAT and Asset Start-up Complete commissioning documentation Participate in HAZCOMM activities for various projects as required What Do You Need? Electrical/Instrumentation HND/HNC or equivalent Proven Instrumentation & Electrical experience full commissioning phase experience (installation, dry, wet, process testing) Previous experience holding SAP or AP position and of PTW systems Experience of iMCCs including VSDs, Softstarts and Flow, Level, Pressure and Temperature instrumentation Experience in executing pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for clean and wastewater projects on both new build and retrofit sites Experience in FAT, SAT testing and fault finding Experience in telemetry end to end testing Profibus, Installation and Commissioning Certification Flexibility for location of work and out of hours working as required by the Company Full UK Driving Licence.
