Ecology Manager Location: Inverness, Scotland Full-time | Permanent | Hybrid working available Salary: £45,000–£52,000 I’m working with a small but growing ecological consultancy based in Inverness to recruit an experienced Ecology Manager. With a core team of 15 and additional seasonal staff, the business is known for its close-knit, collaborative culture and supportive working environment. They’re social, passionate about ecology, and committed to staff development. This is a senior-level role (equivalent to an experienced Senior Consultant, just shy of Principal) offering the opportunity to lead a team of five ecologists and shape the delivery of diverse projects across Inverness, the Highlands, and the islands. Fieldwork on the islands includes chartered flights and accommodation, fully covered by the company. Key Responsibilities • Lead and support a team of 5 experienced ecologists, • Manage project delivery, resources, and budgets, • Oversee scheduling, team development, and career progression, • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes, • Proven experience in ecological consultancy (senior consultant level or above), • Strong leadership and project management skills, • Excellent communication and client-facing abilities, • A collaborative mindset and commitment to team wellbeing, • £45,000–£52,000 with annual performance-linked review, • 25 days holiday + 9 statutory holidays, • Paid mileage at 45ppm, • Hybrid working and flexible arrangements, • Chartered flights and accommodation for island projects, • Funded study trips after years 1–3(+) to destinations such as Europe, the Americas, and Asia, • Supportive, social team culture with a strong emphasis on wellbeing If you’re ready to take the next step in your ecology career and lead a team that values both professionalism and camaraderie, I’d love to speak with you.
