As Mobile Service Engineer you'll visit a variety of customer sites within the Kent & Surrounding area, carrying out maintenance, repairs and inspections on our powered access machines to a high standard. Responsibilities include: You will be responsible for the fault-finding, servicing, repairs and maintenance of a range of powered access equipment within the depot and on customers sites. Routine service and maintenance of all equipment and products. You will be required to complete all relevant supporting paperwork in line with company procedures. Carry out refurbishment of equipment and products where necessary. Promote teamwork between colleagues across all depots, to ensure delivery of an effective workshop performance. Liaise with relevant team members to estimate and advise on equipment repair costs also providing recommendations regarding write off, damage and recharge to customers. Ensure the van is fully equipped with spare parts at all times. Ensure service records are maintained and updated onto systems and daily worksheets are populated. Adhere to company guidelines on Health & Safety at Work. Adhere to damage process, ensure product damage is highlighted. Maintain and ensure maximum productivity in line with company targets. Represent the company and values of the business and portray a professional and business-like image to all customers, potential customers and other people you meet in the course of your work. About you: - Relevant general maintenance qualification and proven experience gained within the plant rental sector preferred. Morson Edge are currently looking to recruit a Telecommunications Field Service Engineer. This is a permanent position. Due to travel distance applicants will be required to be living in the Kent or Essex region. JOB PURPOSE To provide technical support to a national security infrastructure programme in outdoor locations, by resolving incidents and undertaking commissioning and planned maintenance as required. The system is a networked electronic detection system making use of electro-mechanical and network technologies. Applicants will typically come from a Telecoms, EPOS, security systems i.e. alarms, CCTV etc background and be used to working shift patterns on-call basis. The Field Service Engineer operates within a defined geographic area and as such will require regular travel and good use of communications technologies to maintain contact with team members and Customers. TECHNICAL AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS Proficient in using instrumentation equipment and application software related to the field activities, including Power Ups, UPSs, Fibre knowledge, Imagery Systems/Cameras and knowledge of Traffic Management Systems an advantage but not essential. Must be a confident problem solver. A strong demonstrable sense of H&S awareness is essential. Ability to build relationships quickly with Customers and other Stakeholders. We are looking for a keen and experienced service engineer, fitter, technician or mechanic to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is either an experienced powered access engineer OR maybe you are an experienced car mechanic, plant fitter or similar and want to do doing something a bit different. As a Workshop Service Engineer for Nationwide Platforms you will work within a busy depot to inspect, repair and maintain our machines ensuring that they are ready for use by our customers. Our machines are powered access machines such as booms and scissor lifts but don’t worry full training will be given. So, providing you have a great attitude and are willing to learn plus have some mechanical/ electrical engineering experience behind you then this could be the role for you. Responsibilities include: - Support the Senior Service Engineer in the effective running of the Depot workshop within the region. Ensure that there is no deficiency or defect likely to affect the safe working of a machine. Notify appropriate manager of any defective or unsafe equipment. Repair machines at depot or on site as required to ensure conformance with manufactures specification and company policy. To complete planned maintenance activities including maintaining the appearance of the fleet to corporate standard. Handover machines to customers and familiarise customers with safe machine operation in accordance with company procedures. Act as an ambassador for the company, providing a high standard of customer care and being polite at all times. Relay appropriate customer queries to depot staff as required. Accurately complete all relevant paperwork including engineer’s report, off hire, pre/delivery inspection and service sheets. Update system on machine status change i.e. PDI carried out, Machine under repair, 6 monthly statutory Inspection completed. About you: - Relevant general engineering maintenance qualification, preferably to NVQ level 3 or equivalent. Experience in diesel engineering, auto electrics, hydraulics and diagnostics fault finding. Have a mature outlook and the ability to prioritise tasks and work well under pressure.
