Are you interested in changing perceptions, completing neurodevelopmental assessment services and promoting positive outcomes for neurodiverse young people and their families?Following investment by local commissioners in our established RDaSH Neurodevelopmental Disorder pathways we are seeking to recruit enthusiastic Mental Health/Paediatric/adult Nurse, Speech & Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist or social worker to join our multidisciplinary Neurodevelopment assessment team. This is an exciting time to be joining this service as we have been working closely with our partner agencies to develop a more integrated and multi-agency/ disciplinary service and working hard to reduce our current waiting lists. You will be joining a large dynamic and supportive group of Psychologists and Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Nurses working as neurodevelopmental practitioners who are committed to working within a compassionate framework.Main duties of the jobThe successful candidates will be expected to support the reduction of our waiting list, a commitment that RDASH have made to ensure our children and young families are seen within a timely manner. You will have excellent communication skills and will provide consultation to families, schools and other professional and agencies when there is ASD and/or ADHD queries. There will also be a requirement to undertake ASD and ADHD assessments, understanding and recognising potential differential diagnosis. You will have relevant demonstrable experience of working with neurodivergent children, along with experience of working in multi-agency teams and with a wide variety of client groups which reflect the full range of clinical severity.The Neurodevelopmental pathway is committed to personal and professional development; the role is an excellent opportunity to develop specialist knowledge and transferable skills in a supportive team environment. Please view our Strategy using the link below: find out more about working for RDaSH and the fantastic benefits we offer visit our website: We are committed to inclusive cultures and really value people in our organisation, view our Allyship video on YouTube to find out more: main terms and conditions of service can be found here: job description and main responsibilitiesPlease view the attached job description and person specification to view the full details about the roleWe reserve the right to close the vacancy early if there are a high amount of applicationsPerson specificationExperienceEssential criteria- Demonstrable post qualification experience, including experience of working with young people with complex neurodevelopmental needs and working with children and families- Managing and prioritising a complex caseload- Experience of Multi-Disciplinary Working- Currently engaged in an advanced level of practice and able to demonstrate a degree of professional autonomy- The ability to provide patient-centred assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation with children, young people, parents and families using professional skills- Ability to undertake Risk Assessments and identify appropriate plans in partnerships with the young person, families and other agenciesDesirable criteria- Experience in delivering comprehensive specialist assessments in a child and family settingKnowledgeEssential criteria- Theoretical and practical knowledge in areas of child and adolescent mental health and neurodiversity- A good awareness of key drivers in the field of children and young people services- High level of problem solving and planning skills- Effective communication skills with all disciplines and agencies to optimise patient management- Understanding of confidentiality and risk management- Clinical audit, research and clinical governance principles- Have a good understanding of child protection/safeguarding policies, recording and reporting any concerns to the appropriate agency including participate in case conferences as requiredDesirable criteria- Wider NHS and social care policy- Importance of public relations- Research, audit and quality improvement methodologiesQualificationsEssential criteria- A professional Nursing qualification or Allied Health Professionals qualification (e.g. Occupational Therapist) or Social Work with current registrationDesirable criteria- Training in Neurodevelopmental assessment e.g. ADOS, QB, ADI or Disco- A qualification, or have undertaken a program of formal training in Clinical SupervisionSkillsEssential criteria- Ability / Skills to support change and improvement, support and inspire colleagues / act as a role model- Ability to motivate others- Good planning and organizational skills- Good Assessment skills selecting treatment from a range of options- Able to manage caseload and to prioritise under time pressures for self and team- Good clinical reasoning skills- Ability to work autonomously- Flexible approach to problem solving- Multi-agency teamwork- Effective communication skills with all disciplines and agencies to optimise patient management- Effective communication skills both orally and in written form- Providing clinical supervision- Time management- T literate – use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and email and Internet- Manage a varied workload and deliver to deadlines under pressureDesirable criteria- Ability to give presentationsEligibility for sponsorshipWe welcome applications from individuals who may require sponsorship [if eligible] under the skilled worker or health & care visa route.
