Planner Near Aztec West / North Bristol £70,000 – £80,000 + car allowance + package Permanent | Office-based Planner – The Company Our client is a well-established and growing main contractor delivering new build, refurbishment, and fit-out projects across the commercial and construction sectors. Project values typically range up to £15m. The business operates from a North Bristol office near the Aztec West area and has a strong forward workload, driven by repeat clients and negotiated opportunities rather than one-off bidding. Planner – The Role This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Planner to join the business and play a key role across both tender and live project planning. You will be involved from early-stage bid support through to project delivery, working closely with pre-construction, commercial, and site teams to produce realistic, buildable programmes on fast-paced building projects. This role is suited to someone from a main contracting background with strong technical planning capability and the confidence to influence delivery teams. Planner – Key Responsibilities • Producing tender programmes in line with bid requirements and best practice, • Identifying planning scope, key risks, constraints, and programme drivers, • Working with bid and operations teams to agree construction methodology, sequencing, and logistics, • Preparing planning narratives, reports, and supporting tender documentation, • Developing and maintaining contract programmes during live projects, • Managing change, delays, and programme updates in line with contractual requirements, • Identifying programme risks and opportunities and supporting mitigation strategies, • Communicating programmes clearly to internal teams and external stakeholders, • Producing visual reports to support project control, productivity, and delivery, • Acting as a key point of contact for planning across assigned projects Planner – Experience Required • Proven experience working for a main contractor on building projects, • Background in new build construction projects, • Experience in refurbishment or fit-out is beneficial, • Experience in civils, utilities, or energy projects will not be suitable for this role, • Strong working knowledge of Asta Powerproject and/or Primavera P6, • Demonstrable experience across both tender and project planning, • Able to commute to North Bristol / Aztec West area without relocation, • Confident communicator able to work across pre-construction and delivery teams, • Proactive and solutions-focused approach to planning Salary & Package • £70,000 – £80,000 basic salary, • Company benefits package, • Long-term local work within the region, • Stable pipeline of varied building projects
