Are you a creative thinker, with experience in multimedia content creation and looking for an opportunity to play an important role in the global energy transition? The Energy Institute is recruiting for a versatile content creator to develop compelling written, visual and video content for its channels, including our New Energy World magazine, website and social media. This role requires a blend of editorial writing, storytelling, video production and digital content creation, helping us communicate the organisation’s priorities to our members and wider energy community. About the Energy Institute: The Energy Institute’s focus is on creating a better energy future for our members and society. We are the chartered professional membership body for people who work across the world of energy. Our purpose is to accelerate a just global energy transition to net zero. Key Responsibilities Editorial and Written Content • Research, draft and edit high-quality written content for New Energy World (NEW) magazine, blogs and newsletters., • Interview industry leaders, members and partners to create engaging feature articles and case studies., • Support the editor of NEW to oversee the editorial calendar and ensure alignment with the Institute’s strategy and tone of voice. Video and Multimedia Production • Plan, shoot, edit and publish video content for social media, website and events (e.g. interviews, explainers, highlights, short-form social videos)., • Manage the end-to-end production workflow, including scripting, storyboarding, filming, editing and publishing., • Create short-form content tailored to platforms (LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube). Visual / Design Content • With support from EI’s graphic designer, develop graphics, and infographics for use across digital and print platforms., • Use generative AI tools (image and video generation) appropriately to support content creation, always ensuring brand consistency and ethical use., • Collaborate with design and brand teams to align content with Energy Institute’s identity. Cross-team Collaboration • Repurpose content for multiple formats and audiences, maximising reach and engagement. Required Skills & Experience • 3+ years’ experience in content creation, • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics., • Experience working on editorial teams, producing magazine/journal content., • Familiarity with CMS platforms (WordPress/Drupal/Squiz)., • Photography/Imagery editing skills including competency in graphic and image editing tools (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, Figma)., • Skills in video production: filming, editing (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar)., • Awareness and practical use of AI-driven tools for content creation (e.g. image/video generation, transcription, subtitling)., • Understanding of social media platforms and digital publishing best practice., • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously., • Knowledge of the energy and sustainability sectors would be a bonus., • Some business travel - mostly in the UK - may be required.
