Purpose of Role To support the HC Team in delivering a high-quality, people-first generalist service across Operations. You will help ensure our people processes are consistent, fair and effective, and that we live our values of Collaboration, Creating Value and Caring for Stakeholders every day. Reporting into the HCBP, you will be the first point of contact for day-to-day HC queries and will work closely with managers and colleagues to provide pragmatic, clear and timely advice. The role supports a range of stakeholders across employee relations, performance and absence management, recruitment support, wellbeing, policy and process improvement, and accurate people reporting, helping teams feel supported, informed and able to perform at their best. Main Responsibilities • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of HC systems and processes within the organisation., • Be the first point of contact for HC queries, providing clear, practical guidance and signposting where appropriate., • Provide advice, support and coaching to managers on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence (including long-term sickness) and performance management ensuring a fair, consistent and respectful approach., • Support the HC team to deliver an effective service across key operational people activities, including: Recruitment, Absence & LTS, Development, implementation and communication of HC policies and SOPs, HC administration, documentation and accurate record keeping, Employee wellbeing, HC reporting and data collation (trends, insights, actions), • Support the Operational HC Business Partner with designing and delivering OD and change initiatives that improve team effectiveness, capability and culture., • Support performance improvement initiatives, including the use of competency frameworks and 360 feedback, • Contribute to employee engagement and recognition activities with a focus on ED&I and employee experience whilst, helping embed our purpose and values in day-to-day ways of working., • Provide support and coaching to managers to assist them in managing talent and succession planning within their functions, ensuring relevant development or improvement plans are in place., • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of HC systems and processes within the organisation., • Deliver agreed projects and actions to deadlines, keeping stakeholders updated and escalating risks early., • Manage and own your professional development in order to achieve your work objectives and your career and personal goals. Working Conditions • Full-time, 34 hour working week, hybrid flexible working., • This role does require occasional travel within the UK and the job holder will be required to stay away from home. Personal Profile • Strong working knowledge of HR generalist practice, including employee relations casework., • Good understanding of UK employment law and ability to apply it pragmatically in an operational environment., • Calm, organised and able to manage multiple priorities to deadlines without losing attention to detail., • Strong judgement, integrity and confidentiality, handles sensitive matters with care and professionalism., • Confident communicator with the ability to explain options clearly and influence stakeholders at all levels., • Coaching mindset: able to build manager capability, not just “solve the issue.”, • Values-led approach:, • Collaboration – builds positive working relationships, involves others and contributes to shared outcomes., • Creating Value – looks for better ways of working, uses data/insight to improve decisions and outcomes., • Caring for Stakeholders – balances people, business and compliance needs with fairness and respect., • Strong administrative capability and accuracy with documentation, reporting and systems., • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team; proactive in spotting issues early and proposing solutions., • PC literate with confidence using Microsoft Office Preferred Qualifications • CIPD accreditation desirable., • HR or Business related qualification., • At least 3+ years working within a HR Generalist role., • Experience of working within a production environment and dealing with unions would be advantageous.
