About the Role We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team in Crawley. This is a key role responsible for the commercial and contractual management of contracts across infrastructure projects, ensuring delivery in line with requirements, budgets, and risk controls, while protecting Vision Survey's commercial position. The ideal candidate will be a chartered professional with a minimum of five years' experience on the contractor side of infrastructure projects. They will bring proven expertise managing NEC contracts, strong commercial judgement, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams and clients whilst maintaining rigorous contractual compliance. Key Responsibilities Commercial Management and Contract Administration Administer contracts, including NEC4 ECC, ECS, PSC and bespoke formsEnsure compliance with contractual procedures, notices, and timescalesSupport commercial management of the Accepted ProgrammeMaintain auditable contractual and commercial recordsCompensation Events and Change Control Identify, notify, manage, and assess Compensation Events in accordance with clause 60Prepare and assess quotations including Defined Cost, risk allowances, and programme impactEnsure Early Warnings are raised and managed in line with clause 15Support negotiation and agreement of Compensation EventsPayment and Cash Flow Management Prepare applications for payment in line with payment schedulesEnsure compliance with the Construction Act payment regimeMonitor cash flow, Defined Cost recovery, and disallowed cost riskSubcontract and Supply Chain Management Prepare tender documents, analyse returns, and support procurementDraft, review, and administer subcontracts and purchase ordersAssess and certify subcontractor applications for paymentIssue Payment Notices and Pay Less Notices in accordance with the Construction ActEnsure appropriate flow-down of main contract obligationsManage subcontract payments, variations, and final accountsCost Control and Forecasting Prepare forecasts and cost reportsIdentify and mitigate commercial risks and opportunitiesMaintain commercial risk registersStakeholder and Client Interface Liaise with Project Managers, clients, and supply chain partnersSupport a collaborative culture while protecting Vision's commercial interestsManage final assessment processes and close out Compensation Events and commercial mattersSkills, Knowledge and Expertise Essential Requirements: Minimum five years' experience in the infrastructure sector on the contractor sideProven experience managing NEC3 and NEC4 contractsStrong understanding of Compensation Events, Early Warnings, and Defined CostExperience issuing Payment Notices and Pay Less NoticesChartered membership of a relevant professional body (RICS, CIOB, or ICES)Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related construction disciplineStrong commercial judgement and analytical skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilitiesProficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial reportingDesirable: Experience working on aviation infrastructure projectsFamiliarity with site surveys or site investigation worksSalary and Benefits We offer a competitive salary dependent on experience and provide a comprehensive range of benefits including: 23 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing to 26 with serviceFlexible working options post probationStaff benefits package including discounts at retailers and gym memberships, and spa daysPension SchemeHealth Insurance (Vitality), including cinema tickets, free coffee, and movie rental rewards, along with free subscription to Headspace and free Virtual 24/7 GP ServiceLife InsuranceReferral Scheme of up to £1,000Recognition scheme and Service AwardsContinuous on-the-job training and developmentEvery project we undertake contributes to a safer, more sustainable built environment.
