Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and patient tutor to work with a 7th-grade student in Concord, Massachusetts. This student has been experiencing school avoidance and school phobia and thrives in a one-on-one setting. The position involves providing academic support in Math, ELA, Science, and History, with all materials and an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) provided by the school district.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide in-person one-on-one tutoring tailored to the student’s needs.
• Support the student in academic subjects, including Math, ELA, Science, and History, using materials supplied by the school district.
• Utilize the student’s IEP to guide instructional strategies and goals.
• Foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment to help the student re-engage with education.
• Collaborate with the school district and parents as needed to ensure effective communication and progress tracking.
Qualifications:
• Experience working with middle school students, particularly those with special needs.
• Familiarity with IEPs and a strong understanding of how to implement them.
• Exceptional patience, adaptability, and a passion for helping students overcome challenges.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with educators and parents.
