Senior Staff Accountant – ConTech Location:Santa Fe Springs, California, USA Start Date:Immediate About the Company A high-growth construction technology business is building a new category around automation and robotics on the jobsite. Rather than asking contractors to rip and replace equipment, their model is simple: retrofit existing machinery with automation, AI, and control systems that make work faster, safer, and less dependent on skilled labour. The result is measurable impact on real projects, reduced labour requirements, faster install times, and better consistency on-site. A Senior Staff Accountant is required as the company continues to scale in North America. The finance function needs to evolve with it, bringing tighter control, better visibility, and the ability to support a more complex, operationally driven business. This is a build role, not a maintenance role. The company already has momentum, but the finance infrastructure needs someone who can bring control, visibility, and discipline as it grows. There's operational complexity (inventory, multi-functional teams, real-world logistics), and the expectation is that you'll step in, take control of the numbers, and improve how things are done. You'll work directly with finance leadership and cross-functional teams, with the autonomy to shape processes, tighten controls, and make the accounting function fit for scale. If you're looking for a clean, fully built environment, this isn't it. If you're the type who sees gaps and fixes them, you'll do well here. Role Overview The Senior Staff Accountant will own core accounting operations end-to-end, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and audit readiness across the business. This role goes beyond execution. You'll be expected to bring structure to close processes, confidence to reporting, and clarity to areas like inventory and cash. You'll operate with a high degree of independence, balancing day-to-day execution with continuous improvement, and acting as a key point of accountability within the finance function. Where you will make a difference • Take full ownership of day-to-day accounting across AP, AR, and general ledger, • Prepare and post journal entries in line with U.S. GAAP, with zero tolerance for sloppy reporting, • Own account reconciliations and actively resolve discrepancies, not just flag them, • Drive the month-end and year-end close process, improving speed, accuracy, and consistency, • Take control of cash visibility, including bank and credit card reconciliations and cash tracking, • Own inventory accounting end-to-end, including transactions, adjustments, and reconciliation between subledger and general ledger, • Work directly with operations and warehouse teams to resolve inventory issues and improve accuracy, • Support and tighten sales tax processes, working with external advisors where needed, • Act as a key contact for external audits, ensuring documentation is clean, complete, and ready, • Take ownership of NetSuite data integrity, ensuring accurate coding and reliable reporting, • Maintain vendor compliance (W-9s, 1099s) without gaps or rework, • Identify weak points in current processes and implement improvements that actually stick, • Partner with operations, sales, and leadership to ensure the numbers reflect reality Who you are • 5+ years of accounting experience with strong exposure to full-cycle accounting, • Solid grounding in U.S. GAAP, not theoretical, but applied, • Proven experience with inventory accounting (this is non-negotiable), • Comfortable owning audit prep and dealing directly with external auditors, • Strong ERP experience (NetSuite preferred), • Advanced Excel skills, you can actually work with data, not just format it, • Self-sufficient and accountable, you don't wait to be told what to fix, • Able to operate in an environment where not everything is fully built yet Bonus points if you bring: • Experience in construction, equipment, or manufacturing environments, • Experience in a scaling or startup business, • Korean language skills Why Join Us? • You'll own the function, not just support it, • Real influence over how accounting is structured and run, • Direct exposure to operational and commercial sides of the business, • A company that needs building, and will value someone who can do it, • The opportunity to put your stamp on a growing business
