Job Description Accounts Payable Staff Accountant Location: Jurupa Valley, CA Industry: Logistics Pay: $25–30/hour Employment Type: Direct Hire We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Staff Accountant to join our finance team in the logistics industry. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented, analytical, and dependable, with a proven track record in handling high-volume AP transactions, reconciliations, and supporting month-end close. Key Responsibilities • Review invoices and check requests to ensure proper approvals and compliance with company policy., • Process vendor payments, including checks, ACH, and wires, while monitoring early payment discounts., • Research and resolve discrepancies involving purchase orders, invoices, and vendor accounts., • Reconcile vendor statements and corporate credit card accounts to maintain accuracy., • Support senior accounting leadership with financial reporting and analysis as needed., • Enter accounting source documents (vendor invoices, payments, reimbursements, etc.) in accordance with GAAP and internal procedures., • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and schedules to support the monthly close process., • Maintain and update vendor records, including W-9s and other required documentation., • Assist with fixed asset tracking, additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules., • Participate in audits and contribute to workflow improvements that enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy., • Uphold internal controls, maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, and ensure compliance with policies., • Provide assistance on ad-hoc projects and special assignments as needed. Qualifications • Minimum of 3 years’ progressive accounting or AP experience, preferably in logistics, distribution, or manufacturing., • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience)., • Knowledge of GAAP with ability to apply accounting principles in daily work., • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills., • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; experience with ERP systems (Acumatica a plus)., • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally., • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
