Job Description Salary: Starting compensation range $40.00 - $50.00 hourly. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Schedule: Wednesdays, average 15-25 hours per week Position Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, patient-centered nursing care within a fast-paced outpatient surgery center. This role works closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to ensure safe, efficient, and coordinated care throughout the perioperative process. The RN is responsible for assessing patients, preparing them for surgery, supporting intraoperative needs as assigned, and delivering comprehensive post-operative care and education. The RN collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and support smooth surgical throughput. Responsibilities: • Assist Anesthesiologist and medical director with patient care in the OR., • Start IVs and Pre-op patients in preparation for surgery., • Receives patient from OR.Makes assessment on each patient at admission and discharge and records this information on Recovery Room record., • Close observation and monitoring of the post-op patient by taking vital signs, EKG monitoring, oximetry readings and documentation of vital signs on recovery room records., • Identifies arrhythmia’s by constant monitoring and interpreting of EKG’s as indicated and provides nursing intervention as per physician’s orders., • Administers medications, IVs, and Rx’s and maintains records regarding dispensing of same. Observes patient reaction to medications, IV’s, Rx’s and acts appropriately when untoward reaction occurs., • Establishes compassionate environment, assuring patient of support and care., • Performs or assists physician in performance of non-sterile and sterile dressing changes and procedures., • Provie immediate respiratory assistance or support in emergency situations, including use of AMBUbag and administration of CPR and venipuncture., • Post-op teaching of patient, if necessary, and discharge of patient., • Checking, maintenance, and knowledge of STAT Kit and CRASH cart., • Recognizes and utilizes safety precautions and procedures., • Maintains a comfortable, safe, and clean environment for the recovery area., • Remains familiar with equipment and supplies, their location, function and upkeep. Restocks unit with supplies when necessary., • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
