Position Purpose We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Kitchen Cabinet Designer to join our team! The Kitchen Cabinet Designer will be responsible for designing and creating custom cabinets for residential and commercial spaces. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cabinet design principles, excellent spatial awareness, and proficiency in CAD software. The Kitchen Cabinet Designer will work closely with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure that designs meet aesthetic preferences, functional requirements, and budgetary constraints. Duties and Responsibilities • Collaborate with clients to understand their specific requirements, preferences, and constraints for cabinet design projects., • Create detailed cabinet designs, including layouts, elevations, and specifications, using CAD software or other design tools., • Conduct site visits to assess spaces, take measurements, and gather additional information for design development., • Recommend appropriate materials, finishes, and hardware selections based on design requirements and client preferences., • Develop accurate cost estimates and proposals for cabinet design projects, considering materials, labor, and other expenses., • Coordinate with production teams and cabinet makers to ensure seamless execution of design plans., • Review and revise designs based on feedback from clients, architects, and contractors to achieve desired outcomes., • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative design techniques related to cabinetry and woodworking., • Maintain organized project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and correspondence, to track project progress and ensure accuracy., • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the design process, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and managing expectations effectively., • Work with Sales staff to develop and provide designs and support documentation according to their specifications and requests. Knowledges, Skills and Abilities • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g.,2020/Cyncly) and other design tools., • Strong knowledge of cabinetry construction techniques, materials, and hardware., • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and collaborate effectively with clients and team members., • Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and precision in design documentation., • Creative problem-solving abilities and the capacity to adapt to changing project requirements., • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budgetary constraints., • Previous experience working directly with clients, architects, and contractors preferred., • Portfolio showcasing previous cabinet design projects and technical proficiency in design software. Education, Qualifications, Licensing Requirements High school diploma. GED, or equivalent. Minimum 2 years proven experience working as a Cabinet Designer or similar role in the cabinetry industry. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed. Management Preference Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, or related field preferred. Working Conditions Work primarily takes place in an office setting, with access to computers, design software, and other necessary tools. May require occasional visits to residential or commercial construction sites to assess spaces, take measurements, and collaborate with clients and contractors. Occasional travel may be necessary for client meetings, site visits, or industry events. Physical requirements Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Comfortable standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods during site visits and project installations.
