Job DescriptionJob Title: Quality Control Chemist Job Description This Quality Control Chemist role supports a biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility by performing analytical testing within a GMP-regulated quality control laboratory. The position focuses on testing raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure they meet strict quality and compliance standards. You will work hands-on with chromatography and analytical instrumentation in a fast-paced, lab-based environment and contribute to a critical initiative that supports reliable product release. Responsibilities • Perform analytical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products in accordance with established QC methods and GMP requirements., • Operate and maintain analytical instruments including HPLC, UPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis, and other techniques as needed., • Troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and resolve testing issues to minimize downtime and ensure reliable data generation., • Document all testing activities and results clearly and accurately in compliance with GMP, data integrity, and laboratory documentation standards., • Review analytical data for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to specifications prior to reporting or release., • Support day-to-day laboratory operations, including sample management, instrument readiness, and adherence to testing schedules., • Collaborate with colleagues to meet testing timelines and support ongoing manufacturing and quality initiatives., • Follow established quality standards, procedures, and safety practices in a regulated pharmaceutical QC environment.Essential Skills, • 3–5 years of quality control experience in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical laboratory., • 3–5 years of hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, UPLC, GC, FTIR, and UV-Vis., • Strong understanding of GMP principles and pharmaceutical quality standards., • Experience working in a pharmaceutical QC environment with routine testing of raw materials and finished products., • Proven ability to troubleshoot analytical instruments and resolve testing-related issues., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and accurate documentation., • Ability to work independently in a laboratory-based setting while managing multiple testing priorities., • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and interpret analytical data., • Good written and verbal communication skills for documenting results and interacting with cross-functional teams.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with laboratory information management systems such as LIMS or Empower., • Familiarity with equipment validation activities in a GMP environment., • Experience using or supporting gLIMS or similar quality and laboratory data systems., • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and support evolving testing needs., • Strong organizational skills to manage samples, testing queues, and documentation efficiently.Work Environment This is a fully on-site, laboratory-based role within a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. You will work primarily in a GMP-regulated quality control lab using chromatography and analytical instruments such as HPLC, UPLC, GC, FTIR, and UV-Vis. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some flexibility based on testing needs and production demands. The environment emphasizes safety, compliance, and collaboration, with a focus on maintaining high quality standards and meeting critical testing timelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Cary, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
