Job DescriptionPay Range - $27 to $30 an hour based on experience THE COMPANY In business since 1969, Interport modifies and sells new and used shipping containers, serving customers throughout the Northeastern U.S. Established in 2004, Interport Secure Parking operates 24/7/365 secure facilities in Newark, NJ and Savannah, GA where local and regional intermodal drayage truckers park and store loaded and empty import and export containers being transported for global cargo owners, ocean carriers, and third-party logistics providers. THE POSITION The Yard Equipment Operator is responsible for moving Interport sales units and other equipment throughout the Sales yard using 7-high/4-high container handlers, forklifts and yard hustlers. The Sales Yard Equipment Operator is also responsible for fueling equipment, inspect containers upon yard entry as required. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Operates 7-high/4-high container handlers, forklifts and yard hustlers, • Loads inbound trucks and loads outbound trucks as needed, • Feeds containers to the Modifications department as needed, • Puts Sales and Modification units away in their proper locations, • Assists the Container QC Associate in moving containers for inspection, etc. as needed, • Keeps the Sales yard neat, organized, and safe at all times, • Re-fuels all equipment, • Acts as backup for various other tasks in the Sales yard including container inspection, • Completes special projects as required including removal of weeds, trash and debris from yard, office clean-up and various other indoor/outdoor repairs, • Uses an iPad or other electronic device to record information in the company’s software, • Pre-trips equipment on a daily basis and record information in the company’s software, • Remains cross-trained in other areas of the Sales yard, • Assists with projects as required MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS, • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) credential, • Minimum one year’s experience working in a warehouse environment, • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, • Ability to quickly perform basic math (such as in conducting inventory counts), • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, • Ability to lift 50 pounds and sit, stand, or walk for extended periods, • Ability to obtain OSHA-required Forklift Certification within four months after date of hire, • Ability to commute to Interport’s location in Newark NJ, with driving privileges in good standingPREFERRED/PLUS, • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED), • Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing with a clean driving history, • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills, • Experience working with iPad technology, • Willingness to work overtime, including off-hours “call-ins”, some holidays and weekendsPERSONAL ATTRIBUTES THAT HELP MAKE AN INDIVIDUAL SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, • Ability to perform basic computer tasks, • Prior experience driving a forklift and yard hustler, • Customer Service, • Committed, • Positive attitude, • Team-oriented, • Manufacturing environment, • Variable weather conditions, • Noise, • Working at heights, • Dust and dirtPHYSICAL DEMANDS, • Heat and cold, • Noise, • DustPOSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK, • This is a full-time position and the hours of work are weekdays between the hours of 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with occasional overtime hours including weekends. Job Description Overview: Manage all aspects of receiving, warehouse storage, shipping and dispatch of finished products, requisitioning of all materials and scheduling of transport drivers for a 24-hour 7-day operation in Newark. Presence Expectations: · Presence in the Facility, on average 50 hours per week, spanning a minimum 5 work days per week; (Temporary Work Hours Tuesday to Saturday to lead the Sanitation Crew) · “On the (Production & Warehouse) Floor” Presence a minimum 50% of the Time in the Bakery. · “Off Hour” Presence (outside M-F 8:00-18:00) required routinely, with at least two ‘on the floor’ visit per Bakery per month spanning into the night hours of the Night Shift; · “Weekend” Presence, a minimum two ‘on the floor’ visit per Bakery per month, assuming the Bakery is operating during weekends. Primary Responsibilities · Ensure the receiving either in house or at the warehouse, of all incoming bulk flour, ingredients, packaging materials, bakery supplies and equipment, this is to be done in accordance with SQF and HACCP standards. · Ensure that all incoming and outgoing inventory is processed according to schedule. · Ensure proper documentation by maintaining Receiving Log and that all necessary paperwork for inbound and outbound trucks is completed. · Ensure proper storage and rotation of inventory by maintaining proper dating of incoming items and using them on a FIFO basis. · Ensure an accurate inventory of all ingredients and wrapping materials on a weekly basis. · Ensure the plant is supplied with the proper materials and liaison with the production department to accurately determine the plants daily needs. · Ensure product is dispatched to drivers / customers on a timely basis providing accurate documentation for billing. · Ensure all trucks are loaded properly, that loads are counted and that bills of lading or receipts are signed off by our drivers. · Ensure drivers are scheduled and all runs are covered every day. · Ensure runs are scheduled in a cost- effective manor to avoid unnecessary salary expenditure. · Ensure all trucks are serviced properly maintains a service log with the leasing company. · Ensure all KPI’s and Metrics are reported and met. · Audit and report inventory while making recommendations on which items to order and restock. · Monitor workplace performance and lead training initiatives to improve employees. · Communicate with other departments to ensure products are shipped in a timely manner.
