Payroll Manager/ General Accountant The opportunity: Kings Bay Y/ JCC Brooklyn is a community center that connects, uplifts, and inspires. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance - 3+ years of Payroll processing experience with ADP - Detail-oriented with strong communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills. - Strong knowledge of Microsoft (Excel, Word) Approachable, easygoing and collaborative - Problem-solving/analytical team player Preferred: - Union employer experience - Knowledge of MIP Accounting software Payroll Manager Responsibilities: - Supervise payroll submission and processing through ADP. - Communicate with department managers regularly - Issue annual memos to employees and update on required tax withholding changes - Ensure that new hire information is submitted to NYS - Process miscellaneous payroll earnings and deductions (union, medical, dental, pension, and Vanguard retirement) - Resolve any payroll system issues with the payroll processing company (ADP) - Onboarding, assigning Time off Policies, Holidays, etc in ADP - Import bi-weekly payroll transactions and paychecks from ADP into the MIP accounting system - Process union and other remittances monthly - Respond to payroll-related inquiries - Ensure all time and attendance records are up to date and accurately recorded - Maintain complete personnel records, including terminations, department transfers, reviews, and documentation. - Process any required organizational payroll tax filing adjustments - Process annual IRS forms 1094/1095 - Gather/update payroll data for annual EEO-1 report preparation - Allocate invoices by location/department/program Other Accounting Responsibilities: - Assist with maintaining records for Human Resources and compliance. - Assist with year-end audit, 403(b) audit and city, state and federal audits - Provide ADP training for Managers and new hires - Back up to Accounts Payable processing - Back up to wire transfers - Backup to Accounts Receivable processing - Book monthly accruals/corrections and adjust entries as needed - Other duties as may be required from time to time by the CFO Job Benefits: - Health and vision coverage & dental coverage optional - Pension Benefit plan, after one year, with agency contribution - Life insurance, Optional 403/b plan & parental leave - Generous Paid time off (PTO) - Paid federal and additional holidays - Employee program discounts Schedule/Location: - Full-time position In-Person in our Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn office. We are looking for a Data Entry Clerk to type information into our database from paper documents. The ideal candidate will be computer savvy and a fast typist with a keen eye for detail. You will report to a data manager or another senior data team member. Understanding of data confidentiality principles is compulsory. Responsibilities - Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders or optical scanners - Type in data provided directly from customers - Create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes - Verify data by comparing it to source documents - Update existing data - Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested - Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost Requirements and skills - Proven experience as data entry clerk - Fast typing skills; Knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred - Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.) - Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices - Basic understanding of databases - Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills - Great attention to detail - High school degree or equivalent
ABOUT JOB Qualifications: Preferred Work Experience (years): 0-2 years of experience in Database Administration Need someone who can Design, develop, implement, enhance, and support database systems (Oracle and SQL) in support of business goals. Database Administrator is needed to perform the following duties: ● Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses for business solutions. ● Perform tasks for backup of pharmacy software and recovery, scripting and upgrades, troubleshooting, and proactively maintaining pharmacy work on time. ● Making requested changes, updates and modifications to database structure and data. ● Work with the other teams to maximize availability in current and planned systems and make sure the system works smoothly. ● Work with staff of pharmacy to develop different strategies and implement that strategy to develop the business. ● Creates and improves systems enhancements, upgrades, and improvements ● Administer database users and database security in accordance with mandatory enterprise-wide guidelines. ● Create and maintain documentation of all production policies, procedures, server configurations, error logs, maintenance medication records and product troubleshooting instructions. ● Identify, troubleshoot, resolve, and communicate issues that affect the systems, servers, and database related products. ● Work with the president and make the pharmacy software up to date and try to solve the problem and if it's necessary where analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. ● Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. ● Worked with a multi-tiered Microsoft-based application, performed system and business analysis and impact assessment, and documenting it. ● Performs strategic planning relative to these databases. Maintain confidentiality, privacy, documenting based on HIPPA regulations and maintaining the files up to the terms required by the State in the Pharmacy’s database. ● Use analytical skills to identify and resolve the problem. ● Create or organize systems to store and secure a variety of data, such as financial information and customer shipping records. ● Design, develop, implement, enhance, and support database systems in support of business goals. ● Provide protected access to Audit and request Databases related to the third-party insurance companies so that confidentiality is not violated ● Performance tuning, identify the slow running queries and tune those to increase performance ● Strong knowledge in Application and its connected applications ● Log analysis techniques and problem investigation skills ● Capable of providing alternate solutions to avoid business process interruptions without compromising compliance. ● Work with Pharmacy staff to make the data already available to the benefit of the patients and the pharmacy. ● Root Cause Analysis, Collaboration with various technical teams, Strong Understanding of business flows and integrated upstream & downstream applications. ● Maintain database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters; implementing new releases; completing maintenance requirements; evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products. ● Troubleshoot the issues faced by the client and give a quick resolution. ● Collaborate with support, business, and various technical teams. ● Perform Root Cause Analysis Mechanisms. Identify the issue and define an optimistic solution. Bachelor's Degree is required in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Information Technology.
