Job Description Job Summary “National Electric Coil” (NEC) is a major rebuilder of major power plant equipment for Large Power Utility Generators that make up our Nation’s Power Grid. NEC is seeking a Logistics and Sourcing Manager to work closely with our Project Managers as part of our Field Services team in the implementation of major overhaul Projects concerning these Utilities Large Power Generators. You will work closely with our NEC’s internal and external Service Providers in their coordination, and execution of all logistics, procurement, sourcing, inventory management and purchasing activities to support Field Service operations. This role ensures materials, components, and services are sourced according to our project needs and cost-effectively, delivered on time. In addition to this you will manage our staging warehouse where all the generators rebuild kits and the equipment and tooling required to install are staged prior to mobilization of the generator upgrades and upon the return of the equipment ensure they are properly checked, repaired or calibrated and restaged for their next use. As our Logistics and Sourcing manager you will collaborate closely with NEC’s internal and external suppliers, to optimize supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and support business growth. You will be based out of our offices in Brownsville, TX. Success is measured in the improvements to supply chain efficiency, ensuring vendor performance, and supporting our Field Services Team readiness especially when responding to emergencies. situations. Logistics & Supply Chain Management · Manage inbound and outbound logistics, including transportation and distribution. · Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels, reduce lead times, and minimize costs. · Monitor supplier and carrier performance to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with service agreements. · Maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation, including packing lists and bills of lading. · Oversee on-site and off-site warehouse operations including staging, inspections, material storage, and dispatch · Schedule equipment rentals (e.g., cranes, forklifts) Sourcing & Procurement · Source suppliers and compare proposals based on price, specifications, and delivery terms. · Prepare and issue purchase orders and requisitions based on approved material needs. · Submit invoices and cost allocations for processing and maintain accurate financial records. · Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to payments, deliveries, shortages, and product quality. · Review and verify supplier’s invoices, quotations, and Purchase Orders for accuracy and compliance. · Maintain up-to-date knowledge of purchasing regulations and company procurement policies. Inventory & Materials Management · Maintain up-to-date inventories of tools, winding supplies, and equipment used for field service projects. · Assemble and track tool and equipment packages tailored to specific job scopes. · Monitor in-house inventory movement; complete and submit inventory transfer forms for tracking. · Implement and manage systems for tracking material usage, returns, and reorders. · Support the development and implementation of inventory control systems. · Frequent effective communication with engineering, field service management, vendors, field service remote supervisors/engineers, manufacturing and logistics partners and quality teams to ensure material availability and specification compliance. · Lead cost-reduction and process-improvement initiatives across sourcing and logistics functions. Process & Documentation · Maintain accurate purchasing files, supplier records, price lists, and delivery logs. · Track the status and issue of requisitions, purchase orders, and deliveries; provide updates to internal teams and submittals to Accounts Payable for inventory and payment processing. · Respond to inquiries from suppliers and internal customers regarding order status or changes. Leadership & Compliance · Supervise and develop logistics and procurement team members, ensuring high performance and continuous improvement. · Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, trade regulations, and sustainability initiatives. Required Skills & Qualifications: · Bachelor’s Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering field is required. · Proficient in Microsoft Office. · Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. · Working knowledge of DOT and IATA hazardous material regulations preferred. · If not currently certified, must be willing to obtain IATA and/or DOT Hazmat certification within the first three (3) months of employment. · Strong knowledge of global supply chain practices, vendor management, and logistics operations. · Proven negotiation, contract management, and cost-reduction skills. Preferred Qualifications: · Strong understanding of purchasing principles, inventory control, and supplier management. · Must be Bilingual (English/Spanish). · Experience with material logistics related to industrial or field service work. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week.
