Join a supportive team in South Texas and advance your emergency nursing career with this travel RN opportunity.\n \n\nJob Details\n\n • Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) / Emergency Department Nurse / Travel RN\n, • Location: Brownsville, TX 78526 (Rio Grande Valley, South Texas)\n, • Assignment Type: Travel / Contract — Travel nurse job, Texas nursing jobs\n, • Start Date: February 9, 2026\n, • End Date: May 11, 2026\n, • Duration: 13 weeks\n, • Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00–07:00) — night shift ER nurse\n, • Hours per Week: 36\n, • Patient Ratio: 4:1\n, • Number of Openings: 3\n, • Electronic Medical Record: Meditech (Meditech EMR experience preferred)\n, • Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs\n, • Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends per schedule\n, • On-Call: None required\n, • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,460–$1,540\n\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n, • Experience: Minimum 5 years recent Emergency Department RN experience in a high-acuity ED — trauma nurse and cardiac alert experience preferred\n, • Licensure: Active RN license that meets Texas state requirements (multistate compact accepted where applicable)\n, • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; TNCC, ENPC, and CPI preferred\n, • Strong triage skills and critical thinking with proficiency in ESI triage guidelines\n, • Experience managing STEMI, stroke, sepsis, trauma, and behavioral health patients\n, • Meditech documentation experience preferred\n, • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred — excellent for Brownsville, TX patient population\n, • Team-oriented, accountable, punctual, and patient-centered with excellent communication skills\n\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n, • Perform rapid triage, assessment, and prioritization using Emergency Severity Index (ESI) guidelines\n, • Provide high-quality emergency nursing care for trauma, cardiac alerts, stroke, sepsis, behavioral health, and other ED presentations\n, • Perform and assist with ED procedures including IV insertion, medication administration, EKGs, splinting, wound care, and suturing assistance\n, • Assist with moderate sedation for procedures such as reductions and cardioversion\n, • Support airway management and resuscitation interventions including CPR, rapid sequence intubation assistance, and full code response\n, • Prepare and coordinate patient transport to higher levels of care and liaise with receiving facilities\n, • Maintain isolation precautions and follow infection prevention protocols\n, • Document assessments, interventions, and reassessments accurately and efficiently in Meditech EMR\n Planet Healthcare Job ID #453062.
