Job Description Job Title Job Reports To (Manager’s Title) IT Manager Department Job Grade Compensation Technology Step 3 Status Post date Close date ☒ Exempt ☐ Non-Exempt ☒ Full-Time ☐ Part-Time Position Summary: As an IT Manager specializing in hardware and Microsoft 365 support, you oversee the management, maintenance, and support of hardware infrastructure, while also providing technical assistance for Microsoft 365 applications and services. Your role involves a wide range of responsibilities to ensure the smooth functioning of technology systems and to support the organization's overall goals. Experience Requirements: • Oversee the procurement, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware devices such as computers, servers, printers, networking equipment, and peripherals., • Ensure that the hardware infrastructure is up-to-date, reliable, and meets the organization's needs., • Provide technical support and guidance for Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) applications and services, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and more., • Assist users with troubleshooting issues, setting up accounts, configuring software, and maximizing the use of Microsoft 365 tools to enhance productivity and collaboration., • Perform system administration tasks, including user management, access control, software installation, patch management, and system updates., • Responsible for systems security, regularly backed up, and adhered to organizational policies and compliance requirements., • Ensure organizational IT practices align with CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) requirements and support ongoing preparation, compliance, and audit-readiness efforts., • Investigate and resolve hardware and software issues reported by end-users or IT support staff., • Involve diagnosing problems, researching solutions, applying fixes or workarounds, and documenting the resolution steps for future reference., • Plan and execute technology upgrades, migrations, and hardware replacements to keep the organization's infrastructure., • Develop training materials and conduct sessions to educate employees on the effective use of hardware devices, Microsoft 365 tools, and best practices for data security., • Maintain documentation on system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides to assist users and support staff., • Collaborate with hardware and software vendors to acquire necessary equipment, manage service contracts, and resolve issues., • Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure that vendors meet their service level agreements., • Implement and enforce security measures to protect hardware assets, sensitive data, network infrastructure, firewalls, antivirus software, access controls, data backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans., • Contribute to the IT budgeting process by assessing hardware and software needs, estimating costs, and recommending investments in technology that align with the organization's goals. Assist in long-term strategic planning to support the growth and development of IT infrastructure., • Provide guidance, mentoring, and supervision to ensure effective performance. Assign tasks, monitor progress, conduct performance evaluations, and promote a collaborative and productive work environment. A master's degree is a plus., • Proven experience as an IT Manager or in a similar leadership role., • Strong knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and emerging technologies., • Solid understanding of information security principles and best practices., • Experience implementing and maintaining compliance with CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) frameworks in a government contracting environment., • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools., • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills., • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines., • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Conditions of Employment: • Must be authorized to work in the United States, • May be required to serve a probationary period., • An Employment and Financial Interest Statement is required. Travel: No travel is expected for this position. Physical and Technical Environment: Must be able to lift 10 pounds at times. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
