POSITION OVERVIEW \n \n As head of the Weekend Experience (WEX) team, the Pastor of Worship and Production advances the mission and vision of the church by providing spiritual, strategic, and operational leadership for all worship and creative ministries. This leader is responsible for cultivating meaningful worship experiences, overseeing creative planning and execution, developing leaders and volunteers for the creative arts department, and ensuring alignment between the church's vision and its creative expression. \n \n As a member of the Lead Team, the Pastor of Worship and Production contributes to the overall direction and health of the church, helping shape ministry strategy and organizational culture. This position provides leadership for weekend worship, youth worship ministries, creative planning and production teams alongside departmental staff development and volunteer mobilization. \n \n PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY \n \n Strategic Direction & Departmental Oversight (15%) (6 hrs.) \n\n • Partner with other senior leaders to discern, cast, and implement the vision of the church.\n, • Provide strategic leadership for worship, creative arts, and production ministries.\n, • Develop long-term goals, growth strategies, and ministry pathways that foster spiritual formation through worship and creative expression.\n, • Contribute to church-wide initiatives, ministry planning, and organizational health.\n, • Participate in Lead Team meetings as requested.\n, • Ensure all creative ministries align with the mission, values, and discipleship strategy of the church.\n, • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and leadership development for WEX staff.\n, • Build a healthy, collaborative, and mission-driven team culture.\n, • Facilitate regular departmental meetings and ministry evaluations.\n, • Oversee budgeting and resource planning.\n\n \n Creative Planning and Coordination (10%) (4 hrs.) \n\n • Lead creative planning meetings and collaborate with teaching pastors, communications department and ministry leaders to craft engaging worship experiences.\n, • Develop creative elements that support sermon series, ministry initiatives, and special events.\n, • Oversee service programming, storytelling, stage design, media, video, and other creative components.\n, • Champion innovation while maintaining theological depth and alignment with the church's culture and mission.\n, • Coordinate ministry calendars and major creative projects across departments.\n\n \n Weekend Worship & Sunday Experience (35%) (14 hrs.) \n\n • Lead and oversee all aspects of the Sunday worship experience.\n, • Serve as a primary worship leader during weekend services as needed.\n, • Create worship environments that inspire authentic engagement with God and support the teaching ministry of the church.\n, • Plan worship sets, service flow, and creative moments with excellence and intentionality.\n, • Recruit, train, schedule, and shepherd WEX volunteers, in collaboration with the Associate Worship Pastor and Director of Production.\n, • Lead weekly rehearsals and department meetings.\n, • Oversee the WEX team in the execution of weekend services.\n, • Ensure excellence in audio, video, lighting, production, and stage environments.\n, • Lead creative planning, forecasting, and execution for major services and events including Easter, Christmas, and other church-wide gatherings.\n, • Oversee WEX volunteer scheduling and ministry systems. \n\n \n Youth Mid-week Service (15%) (6 hrs.) \n The Associate Worship Pastor brings significant direct leadership to this area. The Pastor of Worship and Production will partner with, support, and mentor the Associate Worship Pastor, ensuring the following are fulfilled: \n\n • Provide oversight, vision, and leadership for youth worship environments.\n, • Develop and mentor youth worship leaders, musicians, and vocalists.\n, • Create pathways for youth to discover, develop, and utilize their gifts in worship and production ministries.\n, • Oversee worship planning and set list development for youth services.\n, • Collaborate with Youth Ministry leadership to create engaging and spiritually impactful worship gatherings.\n, • Work alongside the Director of Production to ensure technical excellence in youth ministry.\n, • Lead and develop youth worship and production volunteers.\n, • Participate in youth ministry planning meetings and leadership gatherings.\n\n \n Leadership Development & Volunteer Multiplication (25%) (10 hrs.) \n\n • Build and maintain a healthy leadership pipeline for worship, creative arts, and production ministries.\n, • Identify, recruit, develop, and deploy volunteers and emerging leaders.\n, • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and spiritual formation opportunities for team members.\n, • Conduct regular one-on-one connections with volunteers and team leaders.\n, • Create leadership development opportunities throughout the year, including training events, spiritual growth initiatives, and team retreats.\n, • Lead worship and creative leadership teams.\n, • Foster a culture of discipleship, ownership, excellence, and servant leadership throughout all creative ministries.\n, • Celebrate and recognize volunteer contributions.\n\n \n QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS \n \n Faith & Character \n\n • Demonstrates a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.\n, • Models biblical character, humility, integrity, and servant leadership.\n, • Fully supports and aligns with the church's Statement of Faith, mission, and values.\n, • Passionate about developing disciples through worship, creativity, and leadership.\n, • Active church member or willing to become a member within 12 months.\n\n \n Leadership & Experience \n\n • Demonstrated effectiveness in leading teams, developing leaders, and multiplying volunteers.\n, • Proven experience leading worship ministries and creative teams in mid- to large-size churches.\n, • At least 5 years’ experience supervising staff and building healthy team cultures, preferably in a ministry context.\n, • Ability to think strategically while also executing details effectively.\n, • Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills.\n, • Ability to inspire excellence while maintaining a people-first approach.\n\n \n Skills & Competencies \n\n • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.\n, • Strong musical and worship leadership abilities.\n, • Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and collaboration.\n, • Skilled in volunteer recruitment, development, and team building.\n, • Capable of anticipatory planning, problem solving, and decision making.\n, • Proficient with church management, planning, and Microsoft Office software platforms as well as worship and music software and platforms.\n, • Self-starter who works effectively with minimal supervision.\n, • Demonstrates emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and healthy relational leadership.\n\n \n Education \n\n • High School Diploma required.\n, • Bachelor's degree in Ministry, Worship, Music, Leadership, or related field preferred.\n, • Relevant ministry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.\n\n \n Why You'll Love Working Here: \n\n • Competitive PTO Plan\n, • 14 paid annual holidays\n, • Flexible schedule\n, • Medical, Dental, Vision\n, • FSA, including Dependent Care FSA and Transit FSA\n, • 403B contribution opportunity, up to 6% matching\n, • Cell phone stipend\n, • Pay rate: $80-90,000 DOE\n
