Job Summary The Quality Assurance & RMA Coordinator manages the full Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) lifecycle while supporting Quality Assurance initiatives that improve product reliability and customer satisfaction. This role combines hands-on failure analysis, regulatory compliance, data reporting, and cross-functional collaboration to drive continuous improvement and reduce product returns. Responsibilities: RMA Management & Failure Analysis • Manage end-to-end RMA process from intake through disposition, • Review and validate warranty eligibility, • Perform product teardown, testing, inspection, and root cause analysis, • Determine and communicate disposition (repair, replace, credit, reject, return to stock), • Track and analyze RMA metrics, including turnaround time and failure trends, • Inspect and evaluate raw materials, assemblies, and finished goods, • Perform and document testing per internal and customer requirements, • Investigate non-conforming materials (NCMR) and coordinate containment and rework, • Support Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), • Ensure compliance with DOT, FMVSS, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, SAE, and other applicable standards, • Partner with Engineering on root cause investigations and product improvements, • Provide feedback to Manufacturing on defect trends and systemic issues, • Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and suppliers to resolve quality concerns, • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce RMAs and improve processes Education & Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required, • Experience in product failure analysis and material evaluation, • Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred, • Electro-mechanical product experience preferred, • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus Technical Skills • Proficiency with inspection equipment (CMM, optical comparators, hand measurement tools), • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/blueprints, • Working knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes, • Experience with quality tools (5-Why, Fishbone, Pareto, 8D), • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, • Working knowledge of Internal Auditing; experience with planning and executing audits preferred, • Experience with basic in-house calibration of precision hand tools (calipers, micrometers) is preferred but not required Core Competencies: • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, • Excellent written and verbal communication, • Highly organized and detail-oriented, • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven, • Collaborative team player Safety Requirements: • Employee will be required to wear the provided PPE per the role requirements, • Follow site safety and any department specific protocols, • Report safety hazards or potential safety hazards to reporting Supervisor, • Attend company safety meetings Physical Requirements: • Prolonged computer work and desk time, • Frequent standing, walking, and bending throughout facility, • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, • Frequent use of hand dexterity and near vision Perks: • Health, Dental, Vision, Life and AD&D, and various voluntary insurance coverages, • 401(k) program with a company match, • Wellness program, • Paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay (10 days annually), • $500 referral bonus TECTRAN is an equal opportunity employer.
