Job DescriptionSalary: $100k-$150k base This is a field-based positionrequiring regular weekly travel and on-site work at client project locations, as assigned. The initial assignments are in New York, Texas, Wyoming, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. The initial assignment is expected to last several months, with future assignments varying based on project needs and client requirements. Candidates must maintain a permanent residence and be willing to travel to assigned project sites on a weekly basis. The company offers travel expense reimbursement in accordance with company policy. Company: Vertex Innovations: Job Title: Cx / QA/QC Support Specialist (Mechanical) Location: Multiple Locations: will offer relocation if needed: New York, Texas, Wyoming, Ohio, Pennsylvania Job Type: Full-Time, W-2 Salaried position: full benefits Position Overview: The Mechanical Cx / QA/QC Support Specialist ensures that mechanical systems in data center projects meet all quality, safety, and operational requirements. This role combines proactive oversight with reactive problem-solving to verify that systems are properly designed, installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with owner expectations and industry standards. Working collaboratively with trade partners, engineers, and customer teams, the specialist maintains professionalism under pressure and fosters a culture of cooperation and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has deep experience in mechanical system commissioning, a strong grasp of data center operations, and excellent communication and analytical skills. Qualifications: • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered., • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical systems commissioning, preferably in the data center or mission-critical facilities sector., • Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, chilled water systems, and airflow management., • Hands-on experience with mechanical testing methods, including Test and Balance (TAB) procedures, hydronic flushing and chemical treatment, pipe pressure testing, pump performance verification, airflow measurement, vibration analysis, and refrigerant leak testing., • Working knowledge of data center Tier classifications and redundancy topologies (e.g., Uptime Institute Tier III/IV, N+1, 2N, 2N+1) and their impact on mechanical commissioning sequencing and concurrent maintainability., • Strong understanding of mechanical system design, installation, and operation., • Exposure to Building Management Systems (BMS), Building Automation Systems (BAS), and DDC controls integration for functional testing and system validation., • Proficient in using commissioning and project management tools, such as Cx Alloy, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar platforms., • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills., • Strong verbal and written communication skills., • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
