Responsibilities • The Summer Intern shall provide on-demand timely professional support services to the U.S. Navy Shipbuilding Program Offices within PEO Ships at the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in Washington, DC during a 9-week internship starting Summer of 2026., • The intern will be exposed to PEO Ships financial management and the DoD/Navy budget process, learn financial management competencies, and develop skill sets that will provide value to the program offices and contribute to the workforce., • Gain a basic understanding of Navy budgeting systems and how it works in the Navy (ERP, NEPS, REMIS, RDOCS, PDOCS, PBIS), • Understand how to perform data extractions and assist in building program office tools to visualize, manipulate, and integrate data from Navy financial management systems like monthly burn rate, etc. (obligation, expenditure, budgets, funding, etc.), • Gain a basic understanding of the budget preparation process and budgets that are submitted to the Navy, Office of the Secretary of Defense, and the President’s Budget, • Analyze monthly financial reports and other financial/contract reports, • Administrative tasks such as forensic accounting support, reviewing financial reports and documents for any discrepancies, errors, and modifications, • Must have received a High School diploma by May 2026 (some college preferred), • Pursuing a degree in an area related to Finance, Business, or Accounting preferred, • Requires U.S. Citizenship, • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one, • MS Suite Skills – Specifically Power Point, Word, and Excel Proactive and excellent customer service, • Relocation assistance not offered

Job Description The Marketing & Communications Intern provides broad support to the D.C. Bar’s Marketing Department. This position assists with the development, coordination, and execution of marketing and communications initiatives to promote the Bar’s programs, events, and services. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, creative, and eager to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, and project coordination within a professional membership organization. The internship is expected to begin June 2026 and will run through August 2026. This is an hourly position working up to 21 hours per week. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Brainstorms social media content ideas that align with the marketing and editorial calendar, evergreen campaigns, and current initiatives., • Captures and produces visual content, including photos and short videos at Bar events, for use on digital and social channels., • Helps create a library of images and digital assets that support and enhance brand messaging., • Assists with day-to-day marketing and communications support, including project coordination and campaign tracking., • Supports email marketing efforts and member outreach., • Provides project management support, including tracking tasks, updating timelines, and coordinating deliverables., • Acts as a liaison between the Marketing team and other Bar departments, facilitating collaboration, managing content requests, and following up as needed., • Performs other duties as assigned.
