Role Overview The Maintenance Planner plays a key role in supporting maintenance operations within a chemical manufacturing plant. This 100% onsite position requires daily field presence to scope work, gather essential data, and develop comprehensive, high-quality maintenance job packages. The planner ensures maintenance teams have all necessary resources—information, materials, and documentation—to execute work safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Primary Responsibilities • Review, prioritize, and manage the daily planner queue for new and scheduled maintenance work orders., • Conduct field walkdowns to assess jobs firsthand—gathering technical data, taking photos, and confirming job scope and site conditions., • Develop detailed job plans in SAP, including:, • Creating, maintaining, and tracking work orders and tasks, • Adding supporting documentation, step-by-step procedures, and reference photos, • Identifying, specifying, and ordering all required parts, tools, and materials, • Build and release complete, well-documented job packages to the Scheduling Team once all materials are available., • Participate in bi-weekly backlog meetings with Operations to align maintenance activities, review upcoming priorities, and ensure focus on work due in the next 2–3 months., • Collaborate closely with the Maintenance Activity Coordinator (MAC) on pit stops, shutdowns, and targeted maintenance events., • Support the tracking of key planning KPIs and ensure alignment with plant reliability goals and schedules. Top Required Qualifications • Experience with SAP (job creation, job planning, materials procurement), • Proven background in chemical or oil manufacturing., • Solid mechanical aptitude, including practical knowledge of pumps, piping, vessels, and rotating/fixed equipment. Physical & Environmental Requirements • Regular fieldwork: walking, climbing stairs/ladders, working outdoors in changing weather conditions, • Must be comfortable navigating and working within an active chemical plant environment, • Onsite transportation via golf cart provided, • No TWIC card required PPE & Safety Requirements • Standard site-issued PPE:, • Fire-resistant (FR) clothing (provided by the site), • Hard hat, • Hearing protection, • Steel-toed boots (candidate provides their own), • Harness training not typically required; occasional elevated work evaluations may be necessary, with drone inspection alternatives available. Soft Skills & Collaboration • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required to proactively coordinate with:, • Operations Focal Points for work alignment and priority setting, • Maintenance Activity Coordinator (MAC) for event planning, • Peer planners and technical experts during walkdowns and job reviews
