We are seeking an experienced Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to serve as the senior clinical leader for Positive Impact Health Centers (PIHC), providing strategic oversight of all clinical services, including Medical, Dental, and Psychiatry operations across multiple clinic locations. The CMO is responsible for advancing clinical excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading medical staff in the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. The CMO provides strategic direction for clinical programs, including the development of evidence-based care protocols, oversight of clinical quality initiatives, provider performance management, and budget stewardship. The CMO works to ensure clinical services are compliant, efficient, and financially sustainable while remaining aligned with PIHC’s mission to provide compassionate, comprehensive care to the HIV community. The CMO also promotes integrated care coordination across service lines and strengthens community partnerships to improve patient health outcomes. In collaboration with academic institutions and public health organizations, the CMO will guide PIHC’s participation in research initiatives and support regional public health strategies aligned with the Ending the HIV Epidemic Initiative across the metro Atlanta region and other service areas. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CMO collaborates closely with Operations, Pharmacy, Finance, and Quality leadership to drive organizational strategy, clinical performance, and long-term health impact for the communities served by PIHC. Key Responsibilities: Clinical Leadership & Strategy • Provide medical oversight for all clinical services, including primary care, infectious disease care, dental services, and psychiatry., • Develop and execute PIHC’s clinical strategy across medical, dental, and psychiatric services., • Ensure evidence-based, integrated, and patient-centered care delivery., • Develop and implement clinical policies, evidence-based guidelines, and patient care protocols, particularly for chronic disease management., • Champion clinical innovation and best practices in HIV care and behavioral health integration., • Support the development of PIHC as a clinical research site for HIV-related and other relevant healthcare studies., • Establish and maintain partnerships with academic institutions and other research organizations., • Provide oversight, guidance, and mentorship for research activities conducted by PIHC clinical staff., • Ensure research activities align with PIHC’s mission, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements., • Promote participation in clinical trials, public health studies, and translational research that improve outcomes for individuals living with HIV, as appropriate., • Collaborate with research partners to ensure quality of scientific methodology and responsible conduct of research., • Represent PIHC in regional and national public health initiatives supporting the goals of Ending the HIV Epidemic Initiative., • Participate in collaborative planning with local health departments, community organizations, and academic institutions to advance HIV prevention and treatment strategies., • Provide clinical expertise in community-level HIV prevention initiatives, including testing, treatment as prevention (TasP), PrEP expansion, and viral suppression strategies., • Support PIHC’s participation in regional HIV planning councils and public health strategy groups., • Ensure compliance with HRSA, CARF, CMS, OSHA, HIPAA, and applicable regulatory standards., • Lead clinical quality improvement initiatives., • Monitor and improve:, • Viral suppression rates, • HEDIS measures (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set), • Patient outcomes, • Patient satisfaction, • Oversee clinical risk management and peer review processes., • Supervise Medical/Clinic Directors, Dental Director, and Psychiatry leadership (if applicable)., • Establish productivity standards (visit volume, panel size)., • Lead credentialing oversight and clinical privileging., • Drive provider engagement, retention, and professional development., • Collaborate with COO and Finance to ensure:, • Provider productivity aligns with revenue goals, • Clinic sustainability and cost efficiency, • Strategic growth initiatives, • Review clinical KPIs monthly. Strengthen coordination between: • Clinic, • Dental, • Psychiatry, • Pharmacy, • Client Services, • Front Desk, • Prevention, • Emotional Wellness and Recovery, • Promote whole-person care and interdisciplinary communication., • Hospitals, • Public health agencies, • Community partners, • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution, • Active, unrestricted Georgia medical license, • Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Infectious Disease, or Psychiatry (as applicable), • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Health (DPS) registration, for prescription writing, • Minimum 10+ years clinical practice experience, • Minimum 3–5 years progressive leadership experience in healthcare,, • Experience in HIV care, community health, FQHC, or nonprofit healthcare preferred, • Strong knowledge of HRSA, CMS, CARF, and regulatory frameworks, • Proficiency in EMR systems and data-driven decision-making., • Current certification in Healthcare BLS, • Advanced degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or Business (MPH, MHA, MBA), • Experience in integrated behavioral health models, • Experience leading multi-site clinical teams, • Demonstrates excellent managerial and organizational skills., • Able to mentor and guide staff in critical decision-making., • Knowledge of outpatient healthcare clinic systems, planning, and administrative practices and procedures., • Ability to work in a team of healthcare professionals and collaborate with them to ensure positive, effective patient experiences., • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills., • Displays and fosters integrity and honesty through the promotion of mutual trust and respect, demonstrates and fosters high ethical standards, and treats others fairly and ethically., • Build and maintain effective relationships to share information, establish partnerships, and leverage expertise to accomplish the agency’s goals., • Multi-site clinic oversight (Clayton, Decatur, Duluth, Marietta, etc.), • Combination of executive leadership, clinical oversight, and on-site presence, • Local travel between PIHC sites and to and from community agencies will be required.
