There are two distinct waiting areas, one for pediatric patients and their families, and the other for all other visitors. There are 7 negative flow rooms, one of which is also an isolation room. Clinical and clerical workstations, nutrition areas, and supply and pharmaceutical dispensing machines are centrally located in each zone. A dedicated radiology suite, including 2 CTs, a DECONTAMINATION suite with a separate entrance, as well as a satellite lab are also located within the Emergency Department. In 2017, it is anticipated that Albany Medical Center will open a Level II Pediatric Emergency Department with 15 exam/treatment areas, 2 trauma resuscitation rooms, and a pediatric observation unit. Each ambulatory patient is initially evaluated at the triage. Patients arriving via EMS are directed to the appropriate patient care room by the flow facilitator during peak hours. Acute psychiatric services are referred to the Psychiatric Crisis Unit at the Capital District Psychiatric Center. Key Highlights • Weekly pay: $1,434–$1,512 per week, • Start date: 04/20/2026, • Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts, • Contract type: Travel – temporary assignment, • Setting: Level II NICU, 5-bed neonatal unit; Epic charting, • Travel radius: Locals within 50 miles are not accepted; travel required Responsibilities • Deliver direct nursing care to neonates in a Level II NICU, including monitoring, medication administration, and respiratory support (Bubble CPAP, HFNC, and basic ventilator support), • Manage vascular access and lines (peripheral IVs, UAC/UVC management, central line care) and perform blood draws as ordered, • Support feeding and nutrition (bottle and breastfeeding support, gavage, NG/NJ tube placement/management) and monitor blood glucose, • Conduct sepsis workups, phototherapy, APGAR scoring, neonatal dosing, and participate in developmental and family-centered care, • Perform charting in Epic in real time; respond to clinical changes and collaborate with the NICU team; float to cover patient-care needs as required Requirements • Active Registered Nurse license in New Jersey (or eligible for licensure), • Certifications: BLS, NRP (including Advanced NRP), and STABLE, • Ep ic charting experience required, • Experience: 2+ years NICU experience preferred, • Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program, • Ability to work nights in a Level II NICU and to float as needed, • Travel requirement: This is a travel assignment; locals within 50 miles are not accepted Benefits and Support • 24/7 recruiter and travel support, • Credentialing and onboarding assistance, • Orientation provided (12 hours) as part of onboarding, • Ongoing support throughout the assignment, • Access to resources and guidance for scheduling and logistics Find more opportunities If you’d like to explore other openings from Healthforce Healthcare LLC, please visit Please note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary.
