Job Description PARK AVENUE ARMORY Part American palace, part industrial shed, Park Avenue Armory is dedicated to supporting unconventional works in the visual and performing arts that need non-traditional spaces for their full realization, enabling artists to create, students to explore and audiences to experience epic and adventurous presentations that cannot be mounted elsewhere in New York City. THE POSITION The Individual Giving Coordinator is a member of a 2-person Individual Giving team and plays a key role in advancing the institution’s philanthropic goals by increasing individual donor support and managing the day-to-day operations of Armory Membership groups. Under the direction of the Director of Individual Giving, the Individual Giving Coordinator will implement and evaluate cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to increase membership engagement across General Membership and the Armory’s young donor group, the Avant-Garde, and provide direct support for all individual giving initiatives. RESPONSIBILITIES Membership Program Management • Prepare and maintain comprehensive donor profiles and individualized engagement strategies, including systems to ensure timely follow up and stewardship., • Serve as a front-facing relationship manager for members and other donors, overseeing benefits fulfillment and providing concierge level ticketing service for Armory events and productions., • Draft and coordinate personalized correspondence for renewals, upgrades, appeals, and ongoing donor engagement., • Manage, produce, and implement integrated direct marketing campaigns, including direct mail, email, and other digital appeals, with a strong focus on strategy, messaging, and audience segmentation for Member groups., • Partner with the Marketing and Communications team to plan and execute effective electronic solicitation and e-blast strategies that complement direct mail and drive participation, retention, and revenue., • Test, track, and evaluate marketing and solicitation strategies to increase donor retention and upgrades, and develop and monitor key performance indicators to ensure goals are met., • Collaborate with the Special Events team to plan and support cultivation events for Members, including donor facing engagement and follow-up., • Write and edit clear, compelling content across a range of communications, including customized briefing materials, proposals, newsletters, and appeal correspondence., • Serve as a primary point of contact for member inquiries by phone and email, fulfilling ticket orders, resolving issues, and providing exemplary customer service grounded in deep knowledge of Armory programming, seating, and member benefits. Avant-Garde Management • Lead relationship management for the Armory’s young donor group, the Avant-Garde, with a strong emphasis on in person engagement, ongoing cultivation, and stewardship of members., • Partner closely with the Avant-Garde Steering Committee to shape strategy, support peer to peer outreach, and strengthen member involvement and leadership., • Plan, produce, and execute a calendar of distinctive Avant-Garde events at the Armory and across New York City, drawing on current knowledge of the cultural landscape to create timely, compelling experiences., • Staff and support all Avant-Garde donor events, including check in, welcoming guests, and engaging members in collaboration with the Special Events teams., • Develop and coordinate targeted renewal and engagement campaigns for the Avant-Garde through mail and email, working closely with the Marketing team and Office Manager., • Maintain and implement a stewardship plan in partnership with the Director of Individual Giving, ensuring accurate tracking of gifts, acknowledgments, donor records, and reporting. Cultivation and Stewardship • Serve as the primary researcher for all donors and prospects, identifying individuals with capacity to increase their support and proactively alerting the Individual Giving Director and relevant team members., • Conduct ongoing research on new members as they join to assess giving capacity, philanthropic interests, and connections to the organization, and support strategies that align donor goals with Armory programs, productions, and initiatives., • Track and document cultivation and stewardship activities in the Tessitura database., • Provide support for cultivation and stewardship events throughout the year, including Patron Desk and Patron Lounge coverage during performances to ensure an excellent donor experience., • Perform other development responsibilities as needed and assigned. Results and detail-oriented with the ability to set and meet multiple deadlines., • Proven ability to personally cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts from individuals., • Superior written and oral communication skills, ability to write and speak in clear and compelling ways, and to articulate the goals, mission, and values of the Armoy., • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, proactively manage multiple projects and priorities with concurrent and changing deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team., • Ability to engage diplomatically with and engender the trust of donors, colleagues, and other stakeholders., • Flexible and adaptable work style with the ability to manage competing demands and work independently., • Intellectual depth, maturity, and interpersonal skills to foster the trust and confidence of leadership and donors., • This position requires on-site presence 5 days a week and a willingness to work weekends and evenings as necessary., • Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams/SharePoint, and PowerPoint, as well as in internet research; Tessitura experience is a plus. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE • 1+ years of demonstrated fundraising experience with a focus on individual donors in the non-profit field, preferably in a cultural or performing arts organization., • A bachelor’s degree is desirable or the equivalent combination of experience sufficient to successfully perform essential functions of the job.
