Job Title: New Product Introduction Manager FLSA Status: Exempt Salary: $107,000 - $174,000 Reports to: Vice President of Sales and Marketing Location: Onsite KULR Technology Location: Webster, Texas Travel: Some travel required for customer meetings, conferences, and design reviews. Position Overview: The New Production Introduction (NPI) Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of new battery and energy storage products from concept through full-rate production. This role is responsible for driving cross-functional alignment across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and customer programs to ensure products are launched on schedule, within cost targets, and in compliance with safety, regulatory, and customer requirements. Functions: • Lead end-to-end NPI activities for battery cells, modules, packs, and energy storage systems from development through production release., • Develop and manage NPI project structures, including timelines, build plans, milestones, deliverables, and status reporting., • Serve as the primary cross-functional owner for new product launches, coordinating efforts across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program management., • Oversee EVT/DVT/PVT phases, pilot builds, production readiness reviews, and transition-to-production activities., • Drive DFMEA, PFMEA, process validation, and design-for-manufacturability (DFM/DFA) efforts to support scalable and reliable production., • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, regulatory, and customer requirements (e.g., UN 38.3, UL, MIL-STD, aerospace or space-flight standards)., • Identify, assess, and mitigate technical, schedule, cost, and supply-chain risks throughout the product introduction lifecycle., • Own BOM accuracy, cost targets, yield improvement initiatives, and key launch performance metrics., • Support customer design reviews, qualification campaigns, and decision-making processes related to new product introduction., • Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to support efficient and safe production ramp-up. REQUIREMENTS Education & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related discipline)., • 7+ years of experience in new product introduction, manufacturing engineering, or technical program/project management., • Hands-on experience with lithium-ion, lithium-metal, or advanced battery systems., • Strong understanding of battery safety, thermal management, and reliability considerations., • Experience launching products in regulated or mission-critical markets (e.g., defense, aerospace, space, medical, or industrial)., • Experience with battery pack design, BMS integration, or energy/propulsion systems., • Familiarity with NASA, DoD, or aerospace qualification and certification processes., • Experience scaling products from low-rate initial production (LRIP) to volume manufacturing., • PMP certification or formal project management training. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): • Leads end-to-end New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from concept through production release using structured, stage-gate methodologies., • Applies deep working knowledge of battery systems (lithium-ion, lithium-metal, or advanced chemistries), including safety, thermal, and reliability considerations., • Plans and executes multiple concurrent NPI programs, managing schedules, cost targets, resources, and deliverables., • Drives cross-functional alignment across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program teams to achieve launch objectives., • Oversees EVT/DVT/PVT phases, pilot builds, process validation, and production readiness reviews., • Identifies, assesses, and mitigates technical, schedule, cost, and supply-chain risks using DFMEA, PFMEA, and structured risk management tools., • Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory, safety, and customer requirements (e.g., UN 38.3, UL, MIL-STD, aerospace/space standards)., • Manages BOM accuracy, cost control, yield improvement, and key NPI performance metrics., • Collaborates effectively with suppliers and contract manufacturers to support scalable, safe production ramp-up., • Communicates technical and program status clearly to internal stakeholders, leadership, and customers, influencing decisions without direct authority., • Outstanding interpersonal skills to build effective relationships to achieve business results., • Strong demonstrated written and verbal communication skills to work effectively with a wide range of individuals in a diverse community., • Cooperative spirit within a team of diverse cultures while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and frequently changing priorities.
