Job Description Position Overview The New York State Manager will support and strengthen Westcor’s presence in New York by overseeing key operational, compliance, and strategic initiatives across the state. This role partners closely with the Regional Manager and collaborates with Sales, Underwriting, Administration, and Education teams. The State Manager will help drive agency engagement, support growth opportunities, ensure operational excellence, and maintain financial discipline within the market. This is not a sales role and does not manage underwriting counsel or administrative staff; instead, the State Manager works cross-functionally to ensure state operations run efficiently and in alignment with company goals. Key Responsibilities Agency Operations & Compliance • Oversee the end-to-end agency application and appointment process for New York agents, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with state requirements., • Serve as a state-level point of contact for agents regarding operational questions, onboarding, and procedural guidance., • Partner with the Regional Manager and Sales Manager to identify and develop new agency prospects., • Support agent engagement efforts through outreach, relationship-building, and participation in industry events., • Help oversee Westcor’s New York education programs, including Continuing Education (CE) and Continuing Legal Education (CLE)., • Coordinate with internal subject-matter experts to schedule, promote, and deliver educational content to agents., • Learn and assist in building the annual state projection budget., • Support the Regional Manager in managing the New York expense budget with accuracy and accountability., • Work closely with regional underwriting counsel and administrative teams (who report to the Regional Manager) to ensure smooth workflows and timely support for agents., • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in the title insurance industry, agency operations, or related real estate/insurance fields., • Strong knowledge of New York title practices and regulatory environment preferred., • Excellent organizational and project-management skills., • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal., • Comfortable working cross-functionally in a matrix-based organization., • Financial aptitude or willingness to learn budgeting, forecasting, and P&L analysis., • Analytical Thinking: Ability to review data, identify issues, and propose solutions., • Collaboration: Works effectively with multiple departments and teams., • Initiative: Proactively identifies opportunities to improve operations and agent experience., • Adaptability: Able to shift priorities quickly in a fast-paced environment. · Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
