CSEs translate complex business problems into practical, scoped, and implementable solutions — and de-risk deals by demonstrating feasibility early. This role sits at the intersection of: • Domain Consulting, • Pre-Sales / Sales, • Solution Architecture / Hands-on Engineering KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Domain-Led Consulting • Bring deep Utilities & Energy, Banking or Teleco domain expertise into solution design, • Map client processes, systems, and constraints into technical solutions, • Identify transformation opportunities aligned to business KPIs, • Build credibility with client stakeholders from operator to executive level Pre-Sales / Sales: • Partner with account teams to shape opportunities early / proactive business development, • Translate client problems into clear, differentiated solution approaches, • Lead technical scoping, architecture definition, and solution design, • Create POCs, demos, or pilot solutions to prove feasibility and value, • Support proposal development, pricing inputs, and deal strategy Solution Architecture / Hands-on Engineering: • Rapidly prototype integrations, workflows, or data pipelines, • Work across cloud, data, API, and AI/ML domains as needed, • Ensure solutions are implementable, scalable, and production-ready, • Ensure clean handoff from pre-sales to delivery teams, • Provide architectural guardrails and context for execution teams, • In some cases, stay engaged in early delivery phases to stabilize outcomes REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Domain Expertise Utility: The ideal candidate is a technologist in cloud, data, API, and AI/ML, with deep expertise in the electric, gas, or water utility industry, bringing both technology architecture knowledge and hands-on industry process experience across: • Grid Operations, • Hands-on experience with systems, outage management (OMS), distributed energy resource management (DERMS), transmission & distribution operations, and grid modernization initiatives., • Metering & Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), • Strong grasp of meter data management (MDM), smart meter rollouts, head-end systems (HES), and the integration of metering data into downstream systems., • Meter-to-Cash (M2C) process: Solid knowledge of meter reading, usage validation and estimation, billing (rate engine, bill calculation), payment processing, collections, and revenue assurance., • Utility data architecture — Understanding how operational data (OT) from grid and metering systems integrates with IT systems, data lakes, and analytics platforms in a cloud environment., • Awareness of regulatory/compliance context, and familiarity with industry standards., • Regulatory & Industry Standards — Awareness of compliance context (e.g., FERC/NERC, state PUC requirements) and familiarity with standards such as ANSI, etc. Banking: • Core Banking Platforms & Process Knowledge — Working understanding of how core banking systems operate end-to-end: account origination, general ledger, transaction processing, and reconciliation — not necessarily as a core banking developer, but as someone who has architected, implemented, or managed the systems and integrations that sit on top of or connect to platforms such as Temenos, Finacle, FIS, Fiserv, or Jack Henry., • Deposits & Loans — Experience with systems supporting retail and commercial deposit account lifecycle (account opening, maintenance, interest calculation, statements) and lending platforms covering origination, underwriting, servicing, and collections — including how these processes are enabled and modernized through cloud-native architectures and API-led connectivity., • Payments & Cards — Hands-on familiarity with payment rails (ACH, wire, RTP, SWIFT), card issuing and acquiring platforms, dispute management, and the end-to-end transaction lifecycle from authorization through settlement and reconciliation — including experience with platforms such as Mastercard, Visa, FIS WorldPay, or ACI., • Retail Banking Systems — Understanding of the systems and digital channels that underpin retail banking: mobile and online banking platforms, branch systems, CRM, and omnichannel customer engagement — and how these integrate with core platforms and data layers to deliver a unified customer experience., • Capital Markets — Familiarity with front-to-back capital markets workflows: trade capture, order management, position keeping, trade confirmation, settlement, and regulatory reporting — and the systems that support them (e.g., Murex, Calypso, Bloomberg, or Broadridge), with an understanding of how cloud and data platforms are modernizing this landscape., • Risk & Fraud Management Systems — Experience with or exposure to systems that support credit risk, market risk, operational risk, and real-time fraud detection — including how AI/ML models are being applied to transaction monitoring, anomaly detection, and regulatory stress testing, and how risk data flows integrate with core banking and reporting platforms., • Banking Data & Cloud Architecture — Experience architecting or managing the data layer that connects core banking, payments, risk, and capital markets systems — including data warehouses, real-time data pipelines, APIs, and cloud platforms — with an understanding of how banks are modernizing legacy estates toward cloud-native, microservices-based architectures., • Regulatory & Compliance Awareness — General awareness of the regulatory environment governing banking technology.
