About the Role The Informatics Specialist role provides a liaison between clinical workflows and information technology in the implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of clinical systems involved with the electronic health record (EHR) and associated technologies. The Informatics Specialist is responsible for workflow transformation, assessment, planning, design, re-design, validation, testing evaluation and end user training, implementation support, optimization, and adoption of clinical applications and processes. Focus is on being the advocate and change agent for facility leaders and clinicians to ensure maximum benefit for the EHR and its associated technologies. POSITION’S ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Works with PSN facility leadership, department managers, clinicians and physicians to facilitate problem-solving and ongoing communication, • Assists with communicating system downtime to end users and serves as resource for activities associated with the downtime, • Provides status updates to the Director regarding end user adoption and sustainment of EHR and associated technologies, • Leads and participates in meetings/committees for communication of status updates – i.e. project, adoption, and sustainment, • Effectively communicates changes in standard practice, or functionality to affected end users.
