Position Summary: The Chief Finance & Administrative Officer (CFAO) serves as a key executive leader and strategic partner to the CEO, executive team, and Board of Directors, responsible for shaping and strengthening the financial and organizational foundation that enables Futuro Health to advance its mission with stability, agility, and scale. This leader will guide an integrated portfolio that includes finance and accounting oversight and strategy, human resources, contracting, compliance, risk, and systems in support of administrative functions. The CFAO ensures that Futuro Health remains well-positioned during a period of growth and environmental uncertainty by implementing sound fiscal planning, transparent reporting, and strong organizational frameworks that strengthen accountability, decision-making, and long-term resilience. The ideal candidate is mission-aligned, collaborative, enjoys taking on challenges, and able to balance strategic thinking with pragmatic execution, systems development, and team enablement. Essential Job Functions: Strategic & Executive Leadership • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, executive team, and Board, providing financial and organizational insights that drive informed, values-aligned decision making., • Translate organizational strategy into effective financial plans, operational policies, and enabling systems., • Champion a culture of integrity, data-driven performance, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration., • Lead finance, budgeting, forecasting, modeling, and performance reporting to guide enterprise sustainability., • Inform and generate product/service pricing models., • Oversee liquidity, cash flow, investments, reserves, and treasury strategies., • financial risk assessment, internal controls, and scenario planning for organizational resilience., • Ensure full compliance with GAAP, audit standards, contractual requirements, and relevant regulations., • Manage accounting staff, lead annual independent audits, taxes, and federal and multi-state filings., • Partner with division, unit, and program leaders to ensure effective grant administration, budget alignment, and resource deployment., • Oversee human resources staff, strategy and operations, including compliance, talent planning, performance management, and culture stewardship., • Lead contracting and vendor oversight with a focus on value, clarity, and risk mitigation., • Oversee insurance portfolio and organizational risk management frameworks., • Advance system and process improvements, financial/accounting/audit data infrastructure, and tools that support scalability, collaboration, and operational transparency., • Ensure standard operating procedures are current and plan for business continuity., • Other duties as assigned.External Representation, • Staff the Audit & Compliance Committee of the Board. Participate and contribute to effective Board of Directors governance., • Liaison with outside counsel., • Engage auditors, financial institutions, education partners, philanthropic partners, vendors, and cross-sector collaborators with professionalism and transparency., • 10 years of related prior work experience including at least 5 years as either CFO or lead Finance Officer for an organization with a budget of $25M or more., • Demonstrated expertise in nonprofit financial management, GAAP compliance, audit practices, and investment management., • Prior experience overseeing Human Resource., • Excellent analytical reasoning and ability to forecast and budget., • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to convey financial implications to non-financial audiences., • Experience designing, managing, and improving organizational systems and processes., • Demonstrated ability to lead through change, manage competing priorities, and build collaborative, high-performing teams., • Ability to retain and utilize substantial amounts of detailed information., • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, manage and prioritize simultaneous requests., • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond well under pressure., • Proficient in Microsoft Office products., • Proficiency with financial and analytical tools - specifically Sage Intacct, Bill.com, PowerBI, and Paylocity - is a plus., • Must reside in the Pacific Time Zone or Mountain Time Zone and be able to work effectively in a telework model., • Experience in organizations undergoing growth and proven agility to adapt., • Experience with earned-income models in a nonprofit environment. Supervisory Responsibility: This role will have supervisory responsibility over staff. Work Environment/Travel: This is a remote role. Travel will also be required to attend meetings and conferences. Physical Demands: Able to sit, stand, and type for long periods of time. Ability to work irregular hours including after hours and weekends although this will be infrequent.
