Join our dedicated healthcare team and experience the vibrant coastal lifestyle of Wilmington while making a difference in patient outcomes.\n \n\nPCU Registered Nurse Job Details\n\n • Location: Wilmington, NC 28401 (North Carolina nursing jobs)\n, • Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)\n, • Unit: Cardiac Telemetry – Progressive Care Unit\n, • Start Date: January 5, 2026\n, • End Date: April 6, 2026\n, • Contract Duration: 13 weeks (option to extend up to 26 weeks)\n, • Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45 – 07:15)\n, • Hours per Week: 36\n, • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1700 - $1750\n, • Patient Ratios: 1:4 for surgical step down, 1:5-6 for lower acuity\n, • Scrubs: Navy\n, • Unit Orientation: 24 hours\n, • Weekend Requirement: 4 shifts per 4 weeks (flexible)\n\n\nPCU RN Qualifications\n\n, • Minimum 2 years of recent experience on a cardiac floor or in a PCU/Stepdown setting\n, • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state (required at start)\n, • BLS & ACLS certifications (required)\n, • NIHSS certification (required)\n, • Must pass EKG testing prior to start\n, • Proficient in cardiac telemetry, sheath removal, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, post-MI care, pre/post cardiac cath, and management/titration of cardiac drips\n, • Experience with chest tubes (Emerson/Pleuravac), non-invasive airway management (CPAP/BIPAP, nasal cannula), and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown care\n, • Epic charting experience preferred\n, • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)\n, • Ability to float within the hospital as needed (not first to float)\n\n\nPCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities\n\n, • Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac and vascular conditions\n, • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage cardiac drips, and perform sheath removal\n, • Care for post-cardiac and vascular surgery patients (CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO, VATS, carotid endarterectomy, FEM-POP bypass, amputations, and more)\n, • Utilize specialized equipment: Doppler, bladder scanner, EKG, femoral sheaths, TR band, chest tubes, epicardial pacing wires\n, • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and more)\n, • Document patient care using Epic and follow SBAR communication protocols\n, • Participate in unit rotation and float to other units as required\n We believe in empowering your career.
