This full-time evening shift position offers competitive compensation ($33-$50.50 per hour, $68,640-$105,040 annually based on experience), an outstanding benefits package, and a generous $25,000 sign-on bonus for a 3-year commitment. Key Responsibilities • Administer respiratory therapy treatments and oxygen delivery services according to physician orders, departmental protocols, and evidence-based practices, • Initiate, monitor, and manage mechanical ventilation for both invasive and non-invasive ventilator support specific to patient age and condition, • Perform arterial and capillary blood gas sampling, analysis, and interpretation with appropriate documentation and critical value notification, • Conduct pulmonary function testing following ATS (American Thoracic Society) guidelines and standards, • Assist physicians with bronchoscopy procedures, including patient preparation, equipment setup, and specimen processing, • Administer aerosol therapy, breathing treatments, and bronchial hygiene protocols using various medication delivery modalities, • Perform airway management, endotracheal suctioning, and respiratory assessments for diverse patient populations, • Obtain and perform 12-Lead EKG procedures with quality documentation, • Complete respiratory equipment assessments including CPAP and BiPAP devices, • Collect nasal specimens for diagnostic testing (Influenza A, Bordetella Pertussis, RSV), • Develop, implement, and document individualized patient care plans based on comprehensive respiratory assessments, • Provide patient and family education regarding respiratory treatments, equipment, and discharge planning, • Maintain respiratory therapy equipment, supplies, and medical gas systems throughout the facility, • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with infection control and safety protocols, • Serve as charge therapist when assigned, demonstrating leadership and task delegation abilities, • Mentor students and new respiratory therapy staff during orientation and clinical trainingRequired Qualifications, • Current New York State Licensed Respiratory Therapist credential (or eligible for licensure), • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) or eligible within 12 months of obtaining NYS Technician License, • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire date, • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 1 year of hire date, • One year of recent clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist preferred, • Strong knowledge of oxygen therapy systems, mechanical ventilation, and airway management techniques, • Proficiency in blood gas analysis and interpretation, • Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills, • Ability to work effectively in crisis situations and emergency response scenarios, • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and healthcare team members, • Commitment to patient safety, HIPAA compliance, and maintaining patient confidentiality, • Flexibility to work evening shift schedule (72 hours per pay period), • Professional demeanor and adherence to attendance and punctuality policiesWhy This Is a Great Opportunity, • Generous Sign-On Bonus: Receive a $25,000 sign-on bonus with a 3-year commitment to our organization, • Competitive Compensation: Earn $33-$50.50 per hour ($68,640-$105,040 annually) based on your experience and credentials, • Exceptional Benefits Package: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, retirement plans, paid time off, and continuing education opportunities, • Direct Hire Position: Enjoy job security and stability with permanent employment status, • Professional Development: Access to continuing education, specialty certifications, and career advancement opportunities, • State-of-the-Art Facility: Work with modern respiratory therapy equipment and cutting-edge medical technology, • Collaborative Team Environment: Join a supportive healthcare team dedicated to excellence in patient care, • Leadership Opportunities: Develop your skills as a charge therapist and mentor to respiratory therapy students Located just 30 minutes from Watkins Glen and the southern shores of Seneca Lake, and only 2 hours from Rochester or Syracuse, Elmira offers the tranquility of nature with convenient access to major metropolitan areas.
