Job Description Shift: 1st shift, 10hr days, Monday-Thursday Pay: $16.50-$18/hr Position Summary: This position is responsible for inspecting, adjusting, and repairing all gauges, tools, and measuring equipment to conform to applicable standards. This position is also responsible for performing required measurements on production parts. Must be able to use micrometers, calipers, and read blueprints Specific Educational/ Vocational Requirements: • High school diploma, GED or vocational training., • Combination of education, experience, and training may be substituted for these requirements.Principle Responsibilities/ Accountabilities, • Perform and document precision inspections and provide accept/ reject guidance., • Calibrate all gauges and measuring/ test equipment per established schedules., • Adjust and/or repair as necessary to maintain required levels of accuracy and resolution., • Perform gauge R & R studies as required; maintain records of the R & R studies., • Verify part dimensions, compute unspecified dimensions using shop math and trigonometry., • Perform manual layouts of parts and assemblies., • Program and operate a coordinate measurement machine., • Prepare metallurgical samples; operate metallurgical equipment to support PPAP preparation., • Document part dimensions and characteristics for PPAP (initial production) paperwork., • Review gage calibration procedures and gage operation instructions as required., • Maintain records and histories., • Maintain the cleanliness and housekeeping responsibilities for the equipment and work area., • Perform any other reasonable assignment of duties relative to this position., • Basic knowledge of measuring equipment including but not limited to: sine bar, surface plate, set gages, column gages, JO blocks, super mikes, laser micrometer, coordinate measuring machine; bench grinder/buffer, vibrating engraver, ultrasonic cleaner, magnaflux machine., • Handles metal parts with precision and accuracy while inspecting for imperfections or defects., • Wears personal protective equipment as required by company policy and OSHA standards., • Performs routine preventative maintenance as necessary., • Performs other duties/ tasks as directed by supervision or management.Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:, • Knowledge of GD&T a major plus., • One (1) to two (2) years of experience using basic manufacturing tools and equipment such as grinders, drills, presses, measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, or fixed or telescopic gauges, etc., • Working knowledge of the Manufacturing Industry., • Excellent hand/ eye coordination with an “eye for detail.”, • Basic math skills with or without a calculator., • Basic knowledge of federal and state regulations (OSHA, EPA)., • Strong analytical, problem solving, and time management skills., • Ability to keep work area neat and clean and eliminate potential hazards., • Ability to conform to company policies/ procedures and OSHA standards with the goal of zero safety related incidents., • Ability to work various schedules including nights and weekends., • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals., • Ability and capacity to train and expand knowledge based on company specifications and requirements.
