Job DescriptionJob Title: Deli Clerk Status: Part-time, Hourly, Flexible Scheduling Location: AJ's Deli, Southport, NY Reports To: Deli Manager Purpose: Deli staff provide friendly and attentive customer service while processing customer orders, packaging meals, preparing sandwiches, serving hot food, slicing meats and cheese, and arranging food trays for special orders. Deli staff must maintain the necessary hygienic conditions for meal preparation. Essential Functions: • Provide a high level of customer service and respond to deli counter customers’ inquiries and make suggestions in a timely and exceptional manner., • Prepare special requests and party platters., • Suggest, slice, measure, and wrap meats and cheese., • Operate, clean, and sanitize deli equipment in accordance with safety policies and procedures., • Ensure that the work environment is clean and ready to serve clients by cleaning surfaces and floors, as well as removing garbage., • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve customer satisfaction., • Verify that all displays, goods, and services adhere to the company’s standards., • Any combination of education and experience that provide the knowledge, skills, and ability necessary to perform the essential functions of this position to the satisfaction of AIM’s CEO., • High school diploma or equivalent., • Ability to lift 25 lbs., • Willingness and ability to work some evenings and weekends.
