To protect your workforce, we are at your fingertips: internationalsos.com Job Description The surgeon is a medical professional responsible for performing surgical procedures to treat injuries, diseases, and deformities. They evaluate patients' conditions, develop surgical plans, and execute complex operations with precision and skill. Surgeons collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes. They provide post-operative care and follow-up assessments to monitor recovery, manage pain, and address any complications. Additionally, surgeons must maintain comprehensive medical records, stay informed on advancements in surgical techniques, and uphold the highest standards of patient care and ethical practice. Key Responsibilities: • Reviews patient records and makes diagnoses to determine if there is a need for surgery as a preventative or corrective measure., • Assesses and provides patient with risk factors involved with going through or not going through with surgery., • Performs surgical procedures to prevent or correct injury, diseases, deformities, patient function, and or quality of life following all regulatory and ethical protocols., • Examines all instruments, equipment and the operating room to ensure sterility., • Directs and coordinates activities of hospital staff including nurses, assistants, and specialist for proper patient care., • Coordinate with CMO for treatment capabilities pre- and post-surgery and identify potential risks, • May be required to assist in stabilization of patient and coordination of evacuation of patient to medevac center or CONUS. Basic Requirements/Certifications: • Current and unrestricted license or authorizing document from any US State, District of Columbia or US Territory to provide healthcare within scope of practice., • Minimum five (5) years of experience as a general surgeon preferably in a remote site., • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications., • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification is preferred., • Completion of a General Surgery Residency within the United State or Western country equivalent., • Preferred completion of fellowship in Trauma, Critical Care or General Surgery., • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment., • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time., • On call availibility is a requirement for this role., • Must be able to read, write & speak English to effectively communicate, • This position is unaccompanied., • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required., • US DOD CNACI or the ability to obtain one is required., • A valid passport is required and must be in your possession. Additional Information Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
