Job DescriptionSalary: $56,420.00 - $64,899.63 This position is for the 2026-27 school year. Community Roots Academys (CRA) mission is to be a premier project-based school where children are deliberately taught to see the connections between their formal education and the world. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the school administrator, teach and instruct students in academic, social, behavioral, and other related skill areas. • Plan, develop, organize, and implement lesson plans that align with the California Common Core State Standards, • Prepare, develop and utilize a variety of instructional materials appropriate for the instructional level of students within a wide range of mental, physical, and emotional maturity, • Teach and instruct students in citizenship and other subject matter specified by legal mandates, school policies and regulations, • Use differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including English Language Learners (ELL) and students with 504s or Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)., • Integrate technology and hands-on activities to enhance student learning, • Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment, • Implement effective behavior management techniques to promote student engagement and respect, • Foster a growth mindset and encourage a love of learning in all students, • Evaluate student performance through formative and summative assessments, • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional practices accordingly, • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, • Collaborate with grade-level teams, support staff, and school administration to enhance student success, • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities and maintain knowledge of current best practices in education, • Attend staff meetings, parent conferences, and other school-related events, • Identify and address the individual needs of students to ensure academic and social-emotional growth, • Provide a nurturing and supportive environment where every child feels valued and respected, • Provide individual and group instruction designed to enhance the students mental, social, and emotional growth, • Establish and maintain appropriate standards of student behavior, utilizing a variety of behavior management strategies and techniques, including behavior modification, reinforcement and other positive behavior shaping processes, • Review, analyze, and evaluate academic and social growth, and record appropriate analyses and perceptions, • Participate in regular parent meetings, including 504s, IEPs, Parent Teacher Conferences, behavior meetings, etc., • Participate in ongoing professional development and learning activities, including weekly professional development meetings., • Prepare progress reports to parents and others concerning students academic and social growth, • Prepare, administer, score, and record results of a variety of criterion referenced and/or standardized tests in evaluating students progress, • Support team goals as developed in the PLC. Work collaboratively with grade level and content teams toward highly rigorous expectations for students, • Assist and cooperate with school personnel in assessing students needs, in the development of alternative solutions to individual educational planning, and in the adapting of curriculum offerings to meet individual educational needs, • Perform non-instructional duties, including curriculum and instruction development, student supervision, and advisory and consultation activities., • Perform other related functions as required EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: • Possession of a Baccalaureate or higher degree with emphasis in elementary education, instructional technology, a subject matter field commonly taught in the elementary or secondary grades, or closely related field areas, • Prior training and experiences with Social Emotional Learning (SEL) REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS • Possession of a California credential authorizing service as a teacher for the content and/or grade level that isrelevant for the job being applied for., • Successful completion of student teaching at a recognized college or university or one year of regular full time elementary or secondary classroom teaching experience., • Must pass fingerprint clearance and TB test, • Must complete required training upon hire:CPR, First Aid, Mandated Reporter, and Sexual Harassment. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: • Principles, theories, methods, techniques, and strategies pertaining to teaching and instruction of primary grade pupils, • Understanding of adolescent growth, development, behavior, and social-emotional needs., • Familiarity with curriculum design, instructional goals, educational trends, and research-based practices in elementary school education, • Awareness of diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds and ability to differentiate instruction accordingly, • Effective behavior management and conflict resolution techniques to maintain a positive classroom environment, • Strong communication, active listening, and collaboration with students, families, and colleagues, • Adaptability, creativity, and problem-solving in lesson planning and classroom instruction, • Time management, organizational skills, and computer literacy to support instruction and administrative tasks, • Classroom management that fosters engagement, safety, and respect, • Plan, develop, and deliver engaging English Language Arts lessons, including reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and literature analysis, • Assess student learning and progress; design and implement individualized or group instructional plans to meet diverse needs, • Create a stimulating, welcoming, and academically rigorous classroom environment, • Conduct research or pilot projects to improve curriculum, instructional methods, and student learning opportunities, • Participate in professional learning communities, staff meetings, and professional development to enhance instructional effectiveness, • Comply with school policies, maintain punctuality, and uphold professional standards in all interactions WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physicalrequirementsdescribedherearerepresentativeof those that must be met byanemployeetosuccessfully performtheessential functions of thisjob. • Indoors and outdoors Reasonableaccommodationsmay bemade to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
