The STEM/STEAM Teacher will introduce science, technology, engineering, arts, and math concepts through play-based exploration, inquiry, and project-based learning that aligns with early childhood best practices and school-age enrichment. This role supports curiosity, problem-solving, collaboration, and creativity while ensuring a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities Curriculum & Instruction • Design and implement age-appropriate STEM/STEAM lessons for toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children, • Integrate science, math, engineering, technology, and the arts into hands-on, play-based activities, • Differentiate instruction to meet the developmental needs of children ages 112, • Use inquiry-based learning, experimentation, and real-world problem solving, • Incorporate sensory exploration and open-ended materials for younger learners, • Facilitate structured projects, challenges, and collaborative learning for older children Classroom Environment • Create engaging learning spaces that encourage exploration, creativity, and curiosity, • Ensure materials and activities are safe, age-appropriate, and accessible, • Maintain organized STEM materials, tools, and resources Child Development & Engagement • Foster critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and resilience, • Encourage questioning, experimentation, and creative expression, • Observe and document childrens learning and developmental progress, • Support social-emotional development through collaborative projects Collaboration & Communication • Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, administrators, and support staff, • Communicate with families about STEM/STEAM activities and student progress, • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and curriculum planning Health, Safety & Compliance • Follow all state licensing, health, and safety regulations, • Maintain active supervision and a safe learning environment at all times Qualifications Required • Experience working with children in early childhood and/or school-age settings, • Strong understanding of child development across multiple age groups, • Passion for STEM/STEAM education and hands-on learning, • Ability to adapt lessons for toddlers through preteens, • Strong classroom management and communication skills Preferred • Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Education, STEM, STEAM, or a related field, • Experience teaching STEM, STEAM, robotics, science, or project-based learning, • Familiarity with play-based, Reggio-inspired, or inquiry-based approaches, • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Skills & Attributes • Creative, curious, and innovative, • Patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic, • Organized and detail-oriented, • Flexible and adaptable to different age groups, • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills Schedule & Work Environment • Will include classroom instruction, small group activities, and enrichment blocks, • Works indoors with occasional outdoor STEM activities, • Physical ability to engage with young children (sitting on the floor, lifting materials, etc.)
