Job Description The Fitness Instructor / Fitness Trainer will be responsible for running the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF). This includes assisting new members in the achievement of their fitness goals by designing a simple workout program and instructing them on the proper use of equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Core Fitness Instructor Responsibilities:, • Conduct and run the Planet Fitness PE@PF program, including creating and following the schedule., • Consult with members regarding their fitness goals and instruct them on how to properly and safely use the equipment., • Help to promote our Judgement Free Zone by connecting with members on the club floor, offering assistance and showing support in their fitness journeys while upholding club policies., • Frequently perform a comprehensive walk of all fitness areas to ensure a great member experience. In addition to providing weekly emotional support, Coaches help young people make progress towards their academic, career development, housing/independent living, and other life goals. When a young person is unsure of their goals/interests, Coaches help them explore and expose them to potential opportunities. This part-time role is an excellent opportunity for professionals passionate about supporting students' social and emotional development within an urban educational environment. To be eligible, candidates must have successfully completed the Home of Little Wanderers Mental Health First Aid Certification Program. As an SEL Coach, you will participate in the year-round New York Edge SEL Train-the-Trainer program, provided by ACT (Mosaic), the Home of Little Wanderers, and the Teach Rock Harmony Program. You will be matched with a portfolio of sites to support the implementation of SEL programming during afterschool hours, ensuring that each site administers pre- and post-assessments and utilizes the Mosaic by ACT curriculum effectively. In this role, you will collaborate with program staff, teachers, and other stakeholders to manage an SEL referral system, connecting students and parents to appropriate supports, including individual and group therapy, counseling, and additional family resources. You will also work alongside a team of certified clinicians to monitor and support your assigned portfolio of sites.
