Tutors are not scheduled to work during scheduled program breaks, including holiday closures and days when NYC Schools are not in session, as well as the summer months. Tutors work 16 hours per week, Monday-Thursday afternoons, with four hour shifts scheduled between approximately 2:00-7:00 PM, with some additional hours required for staff meetings and professional development. As the lead program staff for NYPL After School at each location, Tutors work in the public library to engage children ages 6-12 in group format academic support and enrichment activities during the busy after school hours. Our staff uses a culturally competent, person centered approach to help individuals and their families develop skills and resources to improve overall functioning, to instill hope, and to strengthen resiliency. Our programs work closely with community partners to address health disparities in our neighborhoods while also celebrating the strengths and resilience of our communities. Our children’s community residences are single site residence’s that provide a group living for eight children and/or adolescents. The program provides a supervised, trauma informed therapeutic environment which seeks to develop the resident's skills and capacity to live in the community and attend school/work as appropriate. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Assistant Director will work closely with the Program Director in providing leadership to the staff of the 4 Children Community Residences and will make certain that all program goals are implemented in line with Agency expectations and practices. KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (List the functions that are essential to achieve the goals): • Oversee and facilitate the weekly team meetings and ensure supervision is provided to the Team Leaders., • Uses available data to identify needs, provide guidance to program staff, and inform program of planning and quality service delivery, • Maintain the program to meet the needs of the residents in the program, including but not limited to physical environment, personal needs, food, healthcare, services, etc...., • Oversee direct care staff training and orientation., • Have an active role with other community agencies including but not limited to emergency responders and community neighbors., • Network with other mental health and child welfare agencies and attend OMH meeting accordingly., • Assist the Director in ensuring that all necessary programmatic systems are in place to meet client safety needs, both on and off the ground., • Oversee key administrative staff (Team Leaders) of the program and ensure appropriate completion/ compliance of such work., • Assist with adhering to the budgetary parameters of the program., • Participate in ITM implementation, • Assistant Director will directly supervise the Team Leader’s in all four Community Residences, • Assistant Director will be available by phone after hours in the event of program related issues that are required to be reported beyond the Administrator on Duty and will report to the Director as necessary., • Additional responsibilities directed. The Champagne Specialist is ideally based out of the NY Metro area and needs to be able to travel up to 70% of the year throughout 4-focus markets: California, Florida, New York (Metro), Texas. Job Description Multisystemic Therapist - Emerging Adults POSITION OVERVIEW: · Support emerging adults in their transition from group residential foster care into independent living with a minimum of disruptions and reduce the risk of emerging adults requiring further systemic involvement and placement. · Eliminate or significantly reduce the frequency and intensity of the emerging adult’s referral concerns in mental health, educational/vocational, interpersonal, and behavioral domains. · Empower the emerging adult and their social network with the skills and resources needed to independently address the difficulties that arise in independent living, and to empower the emerging adult to overcome family, peer, school, employment, and community concerns. · The group residence programs served by MST-EA (Cedar Knolls House and Kaplan House) serve transition aged youth displaying a wide range of behaviors including psychiatric diagnoses, trauma and loss, and related family/behavioral issues. The target for MST-EA focuses on transition age youth, 17 to 26 years old, transitioning from the group residence into the community. Program works with the emerging adult from up to 2 months prior to discharge up to 10 months post-discharge to support the successful reintegration back to the community and social network.
