Supervisory Responsibility: None Position Summary Under supervision, the Art Instructor will teach digital animation to participants (adult artists with varying degrees of learning, behavioral, emotional, and intellectual disabilities) in the program. The instructor will also implement educational supports and behavior plans. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Implement artistic, educational, and behavioral support plans for assigned participants, referring to participants IPP., • Ensure participants’ well-being during operating hours of the Art Center, while on the premises, and out in the community., • Maintain case notes and participate in meetings and other in-services as assigned., • Ensure attendance logs are accurate and complete. Provide supervision during participants’ arrival, departure, and lunchtime., • Give instruction in the proper use of materials, care, and protection of artwork, production of animated content, and help participants to become proficient in animation., • Ensure the safe and proper use, and maintenance of digital tools including keeping software updated, and maintaining well organized files. Stay abreast of contemporary developments in the field of animation so that the department continues to use the most effective tools., • Create any protocols needed for increased safety or effectiveness. Monitor artist throughout their entire animation project., • Assist and instruct participants on projects related to their IPP (Individual Program Plan) in animation., • Maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
