Job Description The Claims Specialist manages within company best practices lower-level, non-complex and non-problematic workers’ compensation claims within delegated limited authority to best possible outcome, under the direct supervision of a senior claims professional, supporting the goals of claims department and of CorVel. Job Description The Professional Review Specialist analyzes medical services and billing across various claim types to evaluate the accuracy of charges and the medical necessity of care provided. This is a remote role. Job Description The Professional Review Nurse provides analysis of medical services to determine appropriateness of charges on multiple types of medical bills and review of medical reports to determine appropriateness of medical care. This is a remote role. POSITION SUMMARY: This position will handle the day-to-day activities of the Per Diem SANE nurse at Vera House, Inc., which includes on-call duties, examination and trauma informed care of the sexual assault victims and forensic kit and medical record management and supply organization. Travel to local emergency departments. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Weekday, weekend, evening, and overnight shifts required., • Respond to at least 60 hours of on-call shifts per month for sexual assault callouts in Onondaga County at four local hospital sites., • Serve as a liaison and build positive working relationships with community members and partnering agencies., • Establish and maintain clinical and legal records and chain of custody., • Ensure a warm and welcoming environment for all visitors., • Provide in court testimony regarding assessment, evidence collection and handling, a documentation of sexual assault., • Provide forensic exams for victims of sexual assault, including initial physical and behavioral assessment, clinical specimen/evidence collection and interventions for victims who have reported sexual assaults and when appropriate kit release to law enforcement., • Adhere to all Vera House policies, procedures, and safety protocols., • Ensure that all services are maintained in accordance with the Agency’s mission and goals., • Assist in coordinating the provision of an urgent medical evaluation, follow-up care and crisis intervention resources., • As an integral member of the organization, this position is responsible to provide related assistance wherever necessary to help the Agency achieve their goals and embrace and promote the Vera House mission. EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: • NYS or accredited nursing license (RN) required, and completion of SANE education course., • One year of clinical nursing experience, preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Mobility to work in a typical hospital emergency department setting and use medical equipment associated with SANE exams, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Must maintain updated health status regarding DT, hepatitis, PPD as well as other immunizations. Individual must be able to lift 20 pounds. The Title Abstractor searches and analyzes public records to find, review, and evaluate documents related to surface and mineral rights ownership. They also produce accurate, detailed reports summarizing research establishing land and mineral right ownership. The position is Hybrid and requires travel to Broome County, Tioga County and Chemung County. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITILITES: • Research titles, deeds, wills, and related documents to establish property ownership, • Use courthouse computer systems to examine property and tax assessment records for compilation of information about a specific property, • Copy or summarize recorded documents, such as leases, right of ways, and judgments affecting specific property, • Examine liens, judgments, leases, plat books, maps, contracts, and agreements to verify legal description, ownership and restrictions, • Create and review run sheets, deed plots, and flowcharts for abstracts and title opinions, • Support preparation of detailed Ownership Reports, • Research and abstract oil and gas leasehold interest ownership, • Submit reports and results from researching liens, mortgages, right of ways, easements, back taxes, mineral, coal, oil and gas ownership, and verification of current surface ownership, • Provide quality research and reports based on client needs and criteriaPerform other duties as required QUALIFICIATIONS: Experience • 3-5 years of experience as a Title Examiner in the Energy (Oil and Gas, Renewable, or Right of Way), Commercial Title sectors, or other relevant experience.Knowledge/Skills, • Ability to read and understand maps and plans, • Ability to review complex legal documents to obtain and understand legal property descriptions, • Ability to deed plot complex legal descriptions, • Exceptional communication (written and verbal) skills and a committed team player, • Self-driven and self-motivated problem solver, • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products – Word and Excel, • Works well under pressure and meeting deadlines, • Able to organize and set priorities, handling multiple tasks in a fast paced and changing environment, • Must have a comprehensive understanding of common title issues and curative measures, • Ability to learn new computer programs rapidly, • Capacity to be flexible, multi-task and maintain a great attitudeLicenses/Accreditations Given the volume of applications we typically receive, we are unable to respond to all applicants, however, you will be contacted if your experience is a suitable match with one of our upcoming projects.
