Job Description Senior Cost Accountant Hydraulics International, Inc (HII) is looking for an energetic and friendly Senior Cost Accountant to join our accounting team! Under the direction of the Controller, the Senior Cost Accountant will assist with the maintenance of the cost and general accounting systems. This role includes all inventory balance sheet reconciliations, preparation of journal entries, cost analysis, and audit support. The ideal candidate has excellent analytical skills, advanced Excel skills, and a thorough knowledge of accounting principles. Key Performance Deliverables: • Cost Accounting:, • Maintain cost accounting systems, • Analyze cost accounting data; including standards, actual costs, and variances, • Journal entries, • Reconciliations, • Assist with updating standard costs, • Provide reports for management., • Identify and communicate process improvements., • General Accounting:, • Support month-end and year-end close process., • Assist with general accounting and annual financial audit, • Assist with compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)., • Special Projects:, • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, 3 years cost accounting experience, and with at least 3 years in a senior or supervisory role., • Skills:, • Proficiency with ERP accounting software, • Advanced MS Excel skills, • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, • Strong understanding of Cost Accounting, • Strong understanding of GAAP., • Excellent analytical skills and detail oriented., • Strong organizational skills, • Excellent verbal and written communication skills., • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team. Interpersonal Skills - Effectively communicating, building rapport and relating well to all kinds of people. Planning and Organizing - Establishing courses of action to ensure that work is completed effectively. Teamwork - Cooperating with others to meet objectives. Time and Priority Management - Prioritizing and completing tasks in order to deliver desired outcomes within allotted time frames.
